need input/suggestions..

Post by mhyde71 »

i have a buddy that is having me upgrade his stereo in his car and all he has are co-ax 5.25's up front and 6x9's in rear dash.

what speakers would someone suggest to keep consistent with those dimensions (IOW not bumping him up to components or anything), staying with co-ax 5.25 and 6x9's in back what would someone/yous guys suggest.

He is running a couple small linear power amps
1) 4253IQ (25W x 4 RMS) (for co-ax's & 6 x 9's)
2) 452IQ (22.5W x 2 RMS) (sub duty) (whence i get the DC off one of outputs).

The 4 channel is already in and driving the stock speakers which he says sounds unbelievably amazing... so much better than what he had, but he wants new/better speakers.

What/where would you guys maybe point me in the direction of??

Pioneer Premier 6x9's are my favorite 6x9's. I am currently running a pair in the doors of my daily driver and am more than satisfied with the results. They play really low, and the wave guides for the tweeters are excellent for off axis response. You can get them for $100 on the bay.

the rsd's are always a solid choice..

how loud does he listen to mucic?

the ryvals sound NICE but output is a bit limited. for low power, they are great
