Tunes for your boat

Post by waynehead »

Hey, didnt know where to put this, not really car or home audio, but its 12v so I chose here. I havent been on the internet much for the past few weeks and came across these last night. Some of you river rats may already know of these but I myself have never heard of Tidal Audio. Apparently they have been doin big things for awhile. Anywho, Image Dynamics built them some woofers a couple years ago and they are super cheap at woofersetc.com right now. In the Image dynamics sub section. 80 bucks for 10's or 12's. Thought maybe someone out there who may need a little bump in the boat may want to ook at these. Im considering picking a couple up for my sisters jeep. I was told by Eric at ID that they share many parts with their oder entry level subs, the ID line. I have often thought that I would rather use a car audio sub when the time comes that I own a boat, and just try to keep it out of the weather, but I feel these may be decent speakers for the money. Anyone else know anything of these. Not pretty but maybe worth it?

They look pretty similar to me. and 100 bucks less.

Cool Eric has been looking for some subs for his boat... this might fit the bill. A pair would run nicely in stereo on his X200.4.

Do you know if it's specialized for boats? AKA high corrosion resistance, etc?

You know im not sure, all of the specs I have found on them are identical to the id line equivalent. Ill see what Eric can tell me about them. It almost seems like an ID sub with a different dustcap. I would think if they had a different cone material they would vary in efficiency. Ill see what I can find out. The website states that a drivers are designed to withstand sun and moisture but doesnt say anything about the subs specifically. They even go so far as to say they demonstrate them underwater
