First I washed the board with isopropyl alcohol and then hand rubbed a gold polish in everywhere with a buffing cloth for jewelery....there was junk all over the board....you may be able to see the buffing rag I used in a couple of the photos and I posted some pics of the amps condition previously...was fuggly.

I suspect that it was soda or something like that ...caustic and hardened with time....got the caps out and the mounting holes cleaned up pretty good. Honestly I didn't think the amp would really shine this well or this evenly again....took about 6 hours to pull the caps and buff it out...caps took maybe 35 minutes from start of break down to finish....

Turned out hell nice I must say....

here are some of what it looked like when I got it....you can see the spotting on the board and the little dots on it...they were dried something all over it...looked dull and lifeless....so it should look good once the caps are in....

Nice work! Cleaning like that is tedious and time consuming. I bet your fingers felt good after wards! Nice work!

spaced it out over a day....hour here....run around....hour there....watch tv...you know!!!!! It will oh so be worth the time when this one is done....it has some minor stuff I couldn't buff out so it isn't mint mint....but for a 16 year old amp that has been used and abused it is doing ok
