If u lay it flat on the ground u could slide a pen underneath it! Thats how big the gap in the middle of the sink is!

I really need to stay calm for the future when it comes to finds like that :?
oh shit no way... so it is not a original nick then... and tore up...

makes me wonder though... like these LE amps and stuff.... where are they, whos bed are they sitting in, who's junk yard are they just sitting on the shelf of?? albeit there is only 50 of them... but that is still 50 (thousand dollar amps) appearantly between myself and another member on here we know of where three are... where are the balance of the 47??? gotta figure that there is some number of LE amps (not only the orig nick's) but gotta figure some were tossed out by ex-wives, blown up in car crashes, etc...

IT is my understanding that the guy/woman (couple) i got mine from got theirs from a guy who had three of them...

they bought one of his, and the other two are in calagary somewhere... maybe mike is holding out on us?? :P
i dunno, but that was the story i was told back then... AND that the plexi that came with mine all three had that plexi custom made up...
so it kinda caught me off gaurd when you said tehplexi was the same as mine...
JOERG, were you able to confirm that at least?? be curious to know....
BUT i was told that the guy that bought the three custom orig nick's, bought three, had them made custom and paid 12K for each... thought I heard that new retail back in the day these orig nicks sold for the likes of 10K here in the states... and 12K in canada...

dunno, just thinking out loud i guess.

sorry joerg that didnt work/pan out for you.... so amp buying days are not over then.... the search for spock continues... wonder how one would even go about getting in touch with the folksthat bought them new... i bet there are a numbe of dealers that still have theirs, in their storage as a keep sake, or on display or whatever... i dunno... back to work i guess

It´s only 7:26pm here in the UK! Quite a little early to go to bed!

The plexi was one with a decal on it that just said phoenix gold. My friend didn´t buy it because the sink was bent. :(

I could at least gotten a sink to build my own but that´s kinda far away now.

Would you still be in for the trade i offered u earlier today Matt?

my guess is that half are dead by now....in reality...half were most likely burnt to shit by people trying to run them with their retarded current draw on stock and not up to snuff electrical...we've all seen 2250's that have died violent flame and smoke ridden deaths....

Most people just aren't like us....we fix build and repair shit like that where as most just toss it if there is no warrenty. Now how many are or even were sold in the states? I'll bet at least a third went to europe!!!!

I bet the even more than a third went to europe. If i think off how many FAS and SOFAS i used to see back in the 90´s in austria and germany.
I know that the austrian distributor for phoenix gold sold at least 3 FAS and 6 SOFAS back in the day! The last brandnew in crate FAS left his possesion about two years ago.

I am one of other owners of a nickel MS1000, the one with the blue plexi in the earlier pictures. It came from Tristan via R-acer.

Is there another person on the board that has one? Thought Matt and I were the only ones currently here.

Due to the economy and things (like getting married again) the beast is currently sitting in a closet waiting to get sent to someone along with two MS2125's (directly from Tristan) to get the caps changed out. Then on to an install. This might happen sometime this coming spring...

Anyway back on topic, sorry to hear that the 300 "gift" turned into a burn. I doubt that there is anyone out there that has one of these and doesn't know what they have.

I was still looking forward to you installing that one Matt. Why the change of heart about it?

Stereo Junkie

Edit: Name changes.

no, no change of heart on it.. mine is not being sold./././

change of heart as far as the install (well kinda maybe) i dont think i ever meant to install it in the current vehicle, had considered it, but decided against it.

but no, i still have the same plan to re-dipp through die-electric nickel, change/upgrade caps, and throw new endplates on it. which i have all/everything in house, just need the damn time.

i have one i just listed for sale on here.

before the old PG forum shut down i remember posting about it right when i bought it and i gave some numbers off the board to someone who worked at PG who verified it was in fact real. apparently there was some initial doubt conecerning the coloring of the wiring but accouring to the PG guy they were not all identical and some used different color internal wiring.

i would be happy again to offer up any #'s or pictures to verifiy the validity of my original MS1000

i hate to sell mine but i just got laid off from my job and need the $$$.

even though it has been out of my old vehicle for several months i had planned on putting a frame around the plexi and mounting it on that wall of my office lol
