hey all, i just got a 3500 watt peavey pa amp off ebay. the ups guy dropped it off and the only thing holding the box together was one wrap of packing tape. all the corners were blown out and i could look at the amp threw the box i took it out and all 4 rack ears are bent and the gain knobs are tweeked. i plugged it in and it wiorked for the 5 min i tested it. i sent him a email threw ebay saying how it got here and that i was not happy, havent got one back yet.
i havent ever gotten anything shipped this badly before, what should i do? i havent left feedback yet... thanks
if it was packed well enough and you can prove it was the you might be able to file a claim through the shipper but it is unlikely. I had some speakers that were destroyed by the throwers at ups even though they were packed well and they still weezeled out of it. I was just lucky the owner took care of it in my case.
If you could see it though the box at delivery I would have stopped the person and pointed it out to them so at least they could say the condition it was delivered in. Now they will ask why you took it and didn't question it.
I did point it out, but ups drivers are on speed. he said i could file a claim, then poof he was gone.
dbincognito has been giving me pointers in pm, I filed a claim with ups and they are sending someone out to check it out on monday, not holding my breath for money from them but its worth a try...
need to open a dispute with paypal so i can escalate if needed, id be happy if he just refunded $200 for his crappy packing job. see what happens...
next time you spot a problem make sure to stop the driver. I know how they like to run in and out but if you can catch it there they are less likely to say the throwers didn't do it and you did. For some reason they seem to think we like breaking stuff as soon as we recieve it......
