Post by Capital_M »

gonna run the same gauge for the whole system, do I need 1/0 gauge or will 4 gauge be ok.

Gonna be doing battery > ANL > trunk > fuse distibution block > each amp.

These amps will be pushing over 1000 watts correct? Im thinking KK 1/0

Based on the PG power chart, with 800 watts RMS, you should be able to by with 4 awg, as long as its not longer then 16t. Then you'll have to go up to 2 awg...at that point you're better off going with the KK 0 awg.

As far as the speaker wires KK's basic wire should be fine

Im told the x600.1 usually has birthsheet putting up 800+ watts

Also, what are the benifits (if any) of going with a hige gauge/better quality speaker wire

If that's the case, just go with the 1/0. :)

For the speaker wires, IMHO I don't feel that's there's isn't much benefits in expensive wire. 16 awg for comp's and 12 awg for subs should be plenty for most installs.

Go 0 gauge to ANL to fuse dist. block, from there go 4 gauge to each amp. IIRC the X600.1 requires 4 gauge anyways. You don't want to go with 8 gauge to that amp. The 16 awg speaker wire is fine. If you want to be safe get the one with the better shield otherwise run the other wire in split loom.

Well I rather just go all one gauge so I dont have alot of extra wire. I'll just do 0 gauge

I was just going by what PG recommends.

but in all honesty if i can sober up for a minute, 1/0 is your only choice.

Your taking about 1000 watts, and I would never never put anything over 700 watts @ 4ohms on 4 awg for a run the length of the car.

no you'll need a dstro block

Getting a KK fused distro

Alsp does the fuse size change with the wire size, sheets tell me 60A and 40A

So would I put those at the distro and 100A at the inline? while running 0gauge

I think a fused d-block is optional, you could get away with a simple distribution block. And run a main 100 amp fuse in line near the battery.

But If you prefer, you could run a fused d-block with 40 and 60 amp fuses as well as a main 100 amp fuse

Here it is again all drawn up for you. And yes you change the ANL fuse to accommodate the 60A and 40A fusing of each amp. =100 ANL Amp fuse.
