How To Do It...

Post by Pedi »

I guess most of you guys remember when two of my SOFAS's arrived at my house a while ago - with broken plexis, broken connectors and smashed endplates??

Here is a "how-to-do-it" by Eric D "the man" himself...

I recieved a package today... Ehh, I mean a coffin !!!!

Image

Long as a car, and heavy as one aswell...

It does even have (love-) handles, to make sure lifting this device goes secure... :D

Image

This is how a proper crate is done. The amp is so steady in it's position, that I can hardly believe it... Very precise work.

Some close-ups of my lovely amp recieved today.

It is my totally refurbished MS-500 Firefighter Edition. Thanks to the almighty Dr. Fosgate - Eric D for making this amp so alive and so beautiful.

To be honest, I really love this amp.

Some close-ups:

And for those of you that do not quite sure know how big this amp is, please take a look at the 20-pack of cigarettes next to the amp here:

Thank you for your attention. This is a how-to-do-it... Both amp-restauration and serious packing...

Thank you Eric, all my best goes to you...

Bjornar, I am off to Bergen next week for a 5-days course in Hydraulic systems. Supposed to go offshore again week 39 - but the trip was canselled today. So it seems that I have too much time left for PG...

That looks like the coffin I built for it when I shipped it to Cecil in the first place. Less the love handle..........
Those tender little burgers with them little, itty-bitty grilled onions that just explode in ya mouth like flavor crystals every time you bite into one.. just makes me want to burn this muthafuka down.... Come on, Pookie, let's burn this muthafuka down!!!

I thought I built a pretty good crate around the crate for my SOFAS when I shipped it. :)

Very very nice.

One small thing, I would have used the black and red speaker cables for this one , it would have went with the theme more then the original Zeropoint stuff.

But still sexy as all hellllll

I love the amp....the red and black cables would have been cool to see...for anyone who has ever tried to split that cable when installing it it is a bitch of epic proportions. But that amp is one of the prettiest I've seen...

so if I may be so brazzen....how much was the actual shipping cost with that weight? I've got some stuff to send out to your neck of the woods this week and then again down the line a ways some more and that is the best idea for ms amps I've seen....

I know that the red and black might be more lined up...

But I really wanted that ZP-wire, since I am such a great fan of that wire...

Do we have a section in the "how-to" area that covers packing an shipping? seems like we should with all the shipping problems we have.

Thanks, I have been dreaming about this for a very long time.

I started to talk about this convertion already in August 2007 with Eric. At that time I did not even have a MS1000 shroud.

As time went by, I got a white MS1000 sink from JOMA. It was Brand New, and as a matter of fact - it was Andy that helped me out there.

After a long time, me and Casey did a deal that we both were happy with (atleast I was, I hope he is too  ). I got the Red sink, and he got my white one. I did not have any clamp bars, and Casey had red colored ones to his heatsink.... PG was ofcourse out of stock.... What the f..k should I do??? Ofcourse... Tristan, my good friend.. He had a complete set of black clamp bars, brand new... Thank you...

And last but not least - Nico - he made my day with the rest I needed. Thank you, too...

Eric did all the nice work, ofcourse - and managed to put all this together. Brilliant work, I must admit that.

So, after 2 years, lots of digging, lots of emailing, lots of $$.... Achhh.. Nevermind... I got the beauty I have been dreaming about. Thanks to all included in this.

And for all of those wondering why it became a MS500 (2x2125) instead of a MS1000 (2x2250) ??? - The MS2125 was my first PG amp, my introduction to the finest of all Car Audio... A MS500 like this, in this condition and wrapping, it it just as good as any MS1000. I do this carstereo-thingy because it is in my heart, and I love it - not just because of highest possible wattage...
