Dropped a plasma today......
I thundered in 50" Pioneer plasma monitor and a Tandberg HD VTC cam yesterday. Flat on it's face. Didn't wobble or nothing. Died right where it hit the floor. The plasma shattered behind the exterior cover. The Cam simply exploded when it hit the floor. Lens over here, servo over there. $6.5K worth of hardware that never was ever even plugged in......
Someone got the Boss's number? Should I wait till Monday to tell him so as not to ruin his weekend or tell him right now so he can get another shipped here pronto? Please advise.

The only stupid question is the one not asked .......
As my wife used to be a store manager, It's advised you tell him asap. That way things can be taken care of now, not later, and your ass is at least saved from the "why didn't you call/tell me?" routine. It's what my wife would rather her employees do.

I vote wait until monday morning....come in early. Chances are he cant get one shipped before then anyway. No need to ruin his weekend.
I blew up a $45k pair of speakers once that we were breaking in for a client. It was a saturday. I waited until monday to break the news.
I think my boss appreciated it...although he didnt seem too worried about it period...which was actually rather disturbing to tell the truth. Hopefully your boss is understanding that human beings make mistakes. Good luck!

It was never an issue of being "in shit". I'm the best Plasma Dropper they've ever hired. I called this AM. We had a good laugh and a replacement unit should be here by Tuesday. I'll ship the broken pieces back to provide wall art for the office. My peers will demand such.
It was a horrible sound.

I dropped a brand new Sony LCD worth $3K+ about two years ago. I had never been written up in the entire time (7) years I worked for this retailer/wholesaler. Sad thing is I was helping a buddy move it (wasn't my job) to a different location of the store w/ a forklift. Needless to say, I got a day off with pay, and a write up. If I wasn't moving it w/ a forklift then I probably wouldn't have even gotten in trouble.

The drivers actually werent damaged. The 4 midrange drivers (2 per speaker) have resistors wired to them to keep them from being damaged....and the manufacturer did replace them.bdubs767 wrote:em I would of stabbed you....lol. What can you get for $45k? http://wilsonaudio.com/product/maxx/
Best speaker I have heard to date regardless of price.

I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.
