Are there any plans for a shallow mount sub? That seems the be the latest thing especially with the tight areas in some cars/trucks.

Same thing can generally be accomplished with a 4 channel, and at a much lower cost. Theres obviously some small benefits you're missing out on with that approach, but the real market for such an amp doesn't give a shit about any of them..GX3 wrote:Amy thoughts on a mixed 3 Channel a/b and D class. I'm afraid of widths.
I have one of these PG beasts. It goes by the name Roadster 66 and with the front and rear channels bridged, makes a nice 3 channel A/B and D amp in one chassis. around 250 watts for Left channel, 250 for Right channel and 650 for the low pass mono.GX3 wrote:Amy thoughts on a mixed 3 Channel a/b and D class. i'd love to eventually see a mono amp with the equivalent footprint of the old tantrum 1200.1, with about as much power, but obviously more reliability than the tri-path chip architecture. 2 and 4 ohm capable would be totally sweet.

Wow dako got a boner. 1 ohm stable! Sick. 1500 watts?MMmmmmmmm...MW3 wrote:If you like the T1200.1.
There will be three different amps to choose from in the 1000 to 1500 watt range with varying footprints, some big, some very small.
They will all be 1 ohm stable amplifiers.
quick question... Why would someone want a big footprint versus getting something smaller?
Thats like saying well you can get this tube tv or get this slim LED tv... 100 percent of the time people will go with the slimmer TV. So why would you make it a bigger footprint? May be a stupid question but I see everyone wanting smaller footprints to fit it easer. Nah mean?

I would assume the smaller footprint amps are class D while the bigger footprint amps will be A/B. I could be wrong, though...deathcloud wrote:Wow dako got a boner. 1 ohm stable! Sick. 1500 watts?MMmmmmmmm...MW3 wrote:If you like the T1200.1.

Price is also a determining factor, sometimes the smallest size isnt the smallest price, and when you only have so much to spend & need all the power you can buy...........
Cant wait to see what comes of all of this. Perfect timing too, because I will be getting a new car in the next few months that will need some audio lovin.

Smaller is not always cheaper, actually it can be quite the opposite.
There is still a strong market for customers that want big, bad ass amplifiers in terms of physical size and power.
However with newer cars, limited space and new technologies this makes small amplifiers very attractive. They also play a key role in the market.
We will address both segments of the market.

i hope this time the mono amp double his power with half impedance.....MW3 wrote:Smaller is not always cheaper, actually it can be quite the opposite.

I would like to see
A 10X MULTIPLIER ON THE AMPS!!!!!!!!
( The whole RSD line is useless without them )
6 Channel line driver with independent gain controls for each channel ( Left and Right, not combined ). ( 6 inputs, 6 outputs ).....not 2 inputs and 6 outputs.
DD10 that is not Ti or AL, doesn't rust and actually looks cool
LE amp, such as the Reactor....perhaps a new version of the Reactor that won't rust.
A serious line of speakers and amplifiers, not just entry level.
Gold boards, hence the name " Phoenix Gold ".......I won't hold my breath though.
Products that don't require you to buy more products.

So you just mean a TLD-66?6 Channel line driver with independent gain controls for each channel
I love my TLD-66 and having independent gain control of each channel. Good call though. A little update would be worthwhile.

I didn't like any of the Tantrum stuff
TLD66 was a six channel version of PLD1.dBincognito wrote:

It just uses SMT to decrease the size, which was major request from installers.
We are looking at numerous line driver and OEM integration solutions.

But it was only available in black, was not very attractive cosmetically, and you have to remove the cover to adjust it......that's my complaint about it, and why I don't have one.....I have 3 PLD-1's insteadMW3 wrote:TLD66 was a six channel version of PLD1.dBincognito wrote:

If ur worried about cosmetics talk to matt. Thats why we have him. To powder coat ne thing and make it sexy. Because what u think ia ugly may suffice others.
However i do agree on having to take off the top lid is bothersome. Not omly that but i feel like i am going to either short something or break a component. I liked the ones with the gain adjust or pots on the lid expoaed. Easy to adjust.

In terms of crossover and gain features, you should have a look at the ARC SE Series, their features are perfect.
x10 multipliers are not necessary for entry level amps. But please offer separate high- and low pass controls, and allow the highpass to start at about 20 Hz, so that it can be used as an infrasonic filter.
In the German market, even entry level amps offer these features.

Any chance there will be a new DD5 or DD10 with a smaller footprint??MW3 wrote:TLD66 was a six channel version of PLD1.dBincognito wrote:

I see your point as cosmetics are very personal, but line drivers tend to be hidden away up front anyways since their purpose is generally to drive the long run to the back. I'm sure there are cases where the line driver is visible in an installation but then we're just back to personal taste.dBincognito wrote:But it was only available in black, was not very attractive cosmetically, and you have to remove the cover to adjust it......that's my complaint about it, and why I don't have one.....I have 3 PLD-1's insteadMW3 wrote:TLD66 was a six channel version of PLD1.dBincognito wrote:
