Is this a zx200 or zx250?

Post by zigs »

I have a phoenix gold zx series amp and someone had painted it. Problem is I dont know what the rms watts are. I'm guessing its a 200 or 250 but dont know the difference between the two. The dimensions are 8 5/8 by 9 1/4. I would like it to power my two jl audio 10w6's but as tough as this lttle amp is I think It would only be strong enough to power one.

That is a ZX250. The ZX250 and ZX200 are really the exact same amp, but the ZX200 does not have a crossover. Since yours does, it would be a ZX250.

Add to note: it's also a v2. You can tell by the 7 blades on the fan. v1 has 11.

So, ZX250v2

I think you are better off keeping the ZX250 for highs/front stage.

The RSd class D amps are so cheap and powerful brand new that will match up better to those subs.

But that is my opinion.

BTW, the wattage it's rated at is 75 x 2 @ 4 ohms or 250 x 1 (bridged) @ 4 ohms.
