HELP me with ZPA 0.5 cap replacements

Post by forrest »

I own 6 ZPA 0.5 amps. 1 of them failed a few years ago, caught on fire and ruined the amp. After some reading here I am sure cap failure was the cause. I would like to replace the caps and whatever else may be necessary in my remaining 5 amps to keep from losing another one. I tried searching but can't find anything specific on what to use for replacement caps in the zpa amps. Any help would be appreciated!

This all applies to ZPA amps as well as the M amp shown in the photos...

Although I would personally suggest you use the bend caps off the board method instead of trying to desolder them intact, and that method is shown in detail somewhere on this forum.

Can anyone help me with part #'s for rail caps on the ZPA's or should I just leave them?

Leave them unless they are visibly damaged.

They seldom fail.
