VERY NICE MATT!
I know [like said before] that pics just don't do these things right.
When looked at in person you get lots of sparkles from every movement you make with it..... 8)

end plate is finished....

fricken sweeeeet looking in person-
AGAIN pic's dont do it any justice

shot a pink-ish lookking color with the intentions of peeling decal off once all coats were laid on and cured...
BUT when i took it out of oven, i just couldn't bring myself to peeling sticker off- IT LOOKED JUST SO COOL like that w/ the embossed look to it.

HERE's the kicker- WHEN/IF that decal ever does start to peel- go ahead and peel it all off, then you will have Phoenix Gold in Pink and brand new again-

A double life end plate! hehehe

after the powder fully hardens and cures you will still be able to pull that off?

^^^^ no clue! havent got there yet in fact

This is first attempt to shooting powder over decal(s)...

does great for the embossed look- BUT as far as pulling it off- thats why i didnt b/c it looked like it was going to be difficult- even just coming out of oven it's hot and not to be reckoned with- so i left it alone to cool- then i said hey that fricken looks sweet and left it.

there are three coats on top of that decal: 1 black, 1 franked clear and 1 clear clear.
the decal survived perfectly through the baking process- no lifting or pulling up at corners- i think that even with just the single coat of black- once it started to cure- it kinda sealed it in and made it so it wouldn't lift up/ peel or anything

That embossing is definitely SWWEEEET... however I am still curious if the decal + peel method will work! You should shoot a test piece next time you are doing something.

oh also BTW
this was last piece to itchys 275-
all done now itchy- just need to turn some screws and she'll be all buttoned up ready to go- i will be focusing also most my attentions on finishing the franked 475 as well- i had to set that aside for a short bit as i got frustrated with the filler i used- but thats a discussion for that specific thread

I would imagine that once the powder hardens you will not be able to get the decal off as it will be under the hardcoat. I think the embossed look would be cool as a background or shadow effect.

Wow!! Looks great Matt.

IMG_2079 coating is identical when compared to my factory FAS.

Perhaps my FAS sink needs a trip to Vermont when it's apart for cap change....

so here it is now all together. sent out to eric while in china to have caps done and put in master/slave ports as the frank plate i had was with master/slave ports, and didnt want empty holes on plate looking into the amp... SO NoW It is all ToGeTHer

what do you guys think of the gold end plate and terminal screws i used. Do you would think it would look better with the silver/stainless screws or the gold ones it has now???

I like the gold screws and all, but dont think this is the amp that should have them... I think perhaps staying as OEM as possible would be best... or preferred for looks. WSYG

It looks incredible. I like the gold fasteners. They match the terminals already there, really well.
