Can you send some of that snow to Oregon? Least it would help save our roads from the morons that are still using studded tires. What idiots!

Looking forward to the install pics!

please tell us/me your not using particle board..... :hmm: I mean really  I sooo hope I'm seeing things in bad light here.
Also standing waves may or may not be a problem as your box is almost square if I'm seeing things the right way.
screw car audio, I'd rather go fast....errr, wait a minute.

ideally you want to use MDF - medium densitiy fiberboard. It is common for cheaper boxes to be made of particle board like yours but it is still frowned upon. IT has a completely different texture that makes for a much more solid box. You are lucky you didn't break a corner off of it when tightening your screws down so far from the corner. Normally you wan to keep them a couple of inches away from each corner.

yup, poly fill will work just fine. I'm just saying that does not look anything like MDF.... but if you say so.... it's your box. Now hurry up and get this in, snow or no snow.
I was looking at your ride and I'm really hoping there is no salt on the roads where you live cause those pretty chrome rims will start pitting(small black spots if your lucky) rapidly if left dirty for even a short time. Ask me i know.

Did you pick the board yourself or did you ask a salesperson?

The board you used looks more like fiberboard then MDF.

With MDF the fibers are alot smother then what you have pictured.

Yea.
Hate to tell you man, the person who helped you didn't know or didn't care what they were showing you.

That is not MDF.
When you cut MDF it cuts smooth. It doesn't have as many air pockets. You shouldn't be able to see the wood fibers.

It should work ok.
You might have air leaks and cracking if you drive the sub hard. Also the screws might pull out.

Work with it for now and change it when you rebuild in the future.
You know you are going to rebuild. We all do.

you could throw a coat of fiberglass resin inside of it to ensure it is solid and sealed. As he said real MDF is basically just saw dust that they bond and press back together. Your has larger chips and while it is similar, it is different.

you will be ok. just be sure to be careful not to strip out the screws as you fasten it together and DO seal it with something

either fiberglass resin as mentioned above, or even just a polyurethane sealer would be ok.

particle board sucks in moisture like a mafucka

also, some t or hurricane nuts arent a bad idea since screws dont hold in it well. (hell, even in mdf or plywood they arent a bad idea)

WAIT ON DOING THAT!!!!!!!!

Make sure ya like the way the sub sounds first.

If it was me, I'd build another box outta MDF and then pimp it out. Router the edges and double face it to countersink the woofer. Then have the box coated inside and out. 8)

3/4 MDF usually comes in 49" x 97". At least it does here.
