L@@K Mikes DD10, PCore, etc... L@@K FINISHED L@@K

Post by mhyde71 »

okay long story short

i have done some work for mike- First round came out as rejects due to contamination in my air lines-
SO i went through and changed all my filters, and upgraded the filter by PC unit...

So i will be shooting again this evening

Here is what i did before and while it (the embossing procedure) came out fantastic-
the disappointing factor was that there were some fish eyes (oil/water in lines) and caused it/them to be rejects-

SO i will be doing over again but with/as a candy black instead on this run...still with embossing

SHOULD LOOK KILLER WHEN FINISHED!

^ nothing as of yet- will do tonight though
blasted another 3 parts last night- new gun wasnt/isnt working quite as well as i had hoped- still does the job, but taking lil longer than i had expected it to- BUT i think i also have a resolve for the issue/concern- i think/feel the feed tube is too long causing too much resistance for the media on it's way up to/thru the gun- so i will cut apprx 10" off feed tube and see how that plays out...
BUT in either case i will get rest of parts blasted this evening and do the shoot- still have the ti cover to blast and then i think thats it

OKAY SO STRIPPED OFF FRANKED COATING AND
NOW DID A CANDY BLACK
AND BEHOLD ARE PIC"S OF FINISHED PRODUCT

COUPLE FEW SLIGHT BLEMS HERE THERE- BUT OVERALL IT IS BANGIN' AND PROLLY THE BEST/NICEST LOOKING STUFF I've DONE SO FAR- w/ exception of some past franked stuff- BUT prolly explained by the fact that this run was/is the first run from after cleaning/changing out all my air filters last week.

SO anywho- with doing candy black
first you lay down your silver base coat - then i laid on the decal on top of the silver then did the candy black powder-
LOOKS ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS- AND NOBODY ELSE HAS ANYTHING QUITE LIKE IT- NOT EVEN CLOSE!

whats more is that given this is a "candy black" powder coating
in some of the pic's you can see that the texture to the coating makes it look just like candy- like a jolly rancher or something

when looking at them, some angles they look grape-ish, other angles look like licorice, or licorice flavored candy. and it's all good! real nice! unfortunately, as usual, the pic's just dont do them justice

yeah think so- no prob

I have that already partially sand blasted-
Stripped last week, and blasted on top (the fins)- so it almost ready for powder

BUT would like to use it for a short short while- so i have place for pedi's 2500 boards - out of the surfboard b/c there are two boards in the surfboard i dont want to break apart if i can help it- and figured i would lay them in the 1K sink for the while it is out getting plated for pedi.

sounds good- WHAT COLOR DO YOU WANT ON IT JOERG?

I am hopeful to get pedi's to plating this week
we'll see how that goes- this job of mikes took lil longer than i had wanted- but i wanted it to be perfect (or as close as i could get to perfect) for him!

Kinda getting caught up now-
JUST have Itchys (the ms475)- pedi's, fuzzy's and cannones stuff now left "on the bench" for work left to do / get finished
