the first one....I've attached the pic on how the rsd go into my car with the tweets facing the windscreen and mids at factory location. ( page 1 post 1)
what really surprised me here was that placing the tweets deep down didnt really lower the sounstage height...
maybe a little lower but nothing " damaging "

I have my RSd woofers and tweets in kick panels.
While my sound stage doesn't sound extremely high, it seems to stretch well from mid dash to most of the way up the windshield. Things start to change a bit when a window opens but I'm not certain how that affects the "height".
Just throwing my experience out there.

so now I'm confused, do I put my tweets in kicks, or what?eyesofra wrote:the first one....I've attached the pic on how the rsd go into my car with the tweets facing the windscreen and mids at factory location. ( page 1 post 1)

the guru's?
Well IMHO since the RSd's are designed for musical overlap and the time decay properties are also included, the only option you have when installing them utilizing the passive XO is to install the tweet near the mid on the same plane.
Now if you were to go active and ditch the XO you have entered into a new realm and you can do whatever you wish with either driver.

I think we've established that "Ka Ka" and "Tukki Tukki" don't work.

If you are going to angle the tweeter make certain you angle the mid as well, when you change the angle of one it is no longer on the same plane. Think of what you have if you were to flush both drivers into your wall.
In regard to aiming the set it is a matter of trial and error in most cars. Take into account the off axis response of the tweeter (which is only about -1 db at 20 degrees) and in most cases the center console or lack of will make a world of difference. In my experience the two initial trials are aiming both kicks at the drivers head rest, the roof between the driver and passenger headrests (for less side biasing), or at the rear view mirror. The last case should work well in this case since the tweets have a good off axis response and this will minimize your side biasing and give you a pretty focused center stage without loosing much height do to kick panel location.
To aim your kicks go buy a laser pointer and mount it to some popsicle sticks glued together in a + fashion, so if you were to set the sticks on the table the laser pointer will be standing straight up. You can then place a post it note or masking tape in the position you want to focus the kicks at and then you have a target to aim at.

well with no space for kick panel install i'm left with one option in my a car ...leave it as the way it is rite now ( as in the diagram..the last one).
Gosh it is difficult to get it rite...with phasing, space constraints and all the issue.
But thanks so much guys for all the assistance so far.It has helped alot for sure.
One last question of the chart , would there be any distortion issues if i were to bridge my 4ch amp into 2channel to feed the componets ?
Rite now i'm running only 2 channels ( front left/right), with rear channels unused. Thinking of making use of them too.
thanks guys.

I think a bong hit would have slowed that down for pleasant listening, however it is way too far over the top for me....................IMHO noise, no talent, sorry.

It sounds like pure genius to me.

To be fair, I didn't expect anyone here to like it. Not that I'm jaded or riding a clydesdale or anything but I understand that Cephalic Carnage isn't something just anyone can get into and that's fine. I can understand why most people wouldn't like it... but that doesn't prevent me from enjoying it on a totally different level than were most others will judge it.
What I enjoy about it:
1) The precision
2) The power and expression
3) The groovy rhythms and melodies (yes, they exist, but not everyone can feel their groove)
4) The bad-assness of it
5) The totally insane yet amazing drummer
6) The fact that for as far as grind metal goes, these guys have rather massive variety in their music (not all 100% grid, they have slower stuff and more classic rock influenced riffs and such)
And I'm sure there's more to it than that if I were bothered to sit here and think about it for a while, but that's off the top of my head.

They've certainly been influenced by them, seeing as Cannibal Corpse is pretty much the granddaddy of grind, at least in North America.Bfowler wrote:they sound like cannibal corpse to me
