it is called candy black
i truly do not know (and perhaps believe it isn't supposed to be) but i am not entirely sure as it is only the 2nd "candy" powder i have shot- BUT will say this that i did get build up around edges on the copper candy i did also

BUT will say that i kinda actually like it like that- as does my wife as well.
it makes it look more like candy IYAM, it looks like a piece of candy- so perhaps with talent someone could shoot for that effect, but i think i got it because of simply the build up around the edges... perhaps a learning experience as well embedded with this job, BUT so far every candy i have done i get same results... powder coating is supposed to be a uniform type of finish, BUT in this case it looks almost better with the edges outlined in the darker fields. thats just my opinion though

BUT perhaps it is supposed to be- because if it was an issue with application or technique- i would get same results from like the base coats or other powder i shoot which has not been the case... i.e. look at the silver base coat i did on this one here; no build up around edges...so i dunno- guess it could go both ways- but for candy colors/finishes i like the darker ares on edges- makes it a little more candy looking and more pronounced- but could be wrong/bad shoot too

Yeah I love how it looks a little thicker on the edges. Really makes it pop. That looks absolutely killer Matt!

Looks aw-some Matt.

:( You're making me regret not having you recoat my amp.

Can you get a red chrome base?
Maybe with the candy black and gold lettering?

well i will have to check- BUT i think i have before pic's
The ti core cover/base were not so so bad- BUT the dd10 was pretty beat up

AND the m25's i am doing now for fuzzy were/are riddled with rust- pitted even- WHICH pitted stuff is hard to recoup from- but with some sanding it will at least smooth it out a lil...BUT just surface rust- it's all good- no sweat!
