been thinking... the Car will be here before too long now and I have almost everything I need for the system.
Time to plan.
So here is the question of the hour:
I can build enclosures one of three ways (all images belong to Subthump - they were the easiest to find)
#1 - on the sides of the trunk, behind the wheel humps, firing at each other.
http://subthump.com/images/mike3.jpg
#2 - fire the pair into the back seat through the trunk opening - where this trim-plate is located:

#3 - fire them into the trunk.

If I make side enclosures (#1), I think I will get to save/use more of my trunk than if I use the full-width enclosure (#2 & #3).
No matter what I do, the pass-through will be filled with either subs or my roadster66.
So, what do you all think? I dont think I want to fire them into the trunk... so its really between firing them into the cab or firing them across the trunk at each other.
Sealed RSDC 10's if it makes a difference.
What direction should I fire my subs...

not 1 for sure. you will get tons of cancellation.
i like 3 better of the other options. for 2 to work you need to seal the subs off from the rest of your trunk. from there its a toss up. 2 will give you more impact. 3 will play noticeably lower, and seem louder overall becasue you wont hear distortion set in as soon

my concern about #3 is getting the sound into the cab... How does that work?
the last time I had a car with a trunk I was running a ported box through the rear tray.
but, if I run #3 I can mount the roadster behind the box on a trim plate similar to where that MB Quart is in that picture. But... that would be the easiest box to build.

yeah, not too worried about sealing the box from the trunk, that shouldnt be too hard - the hard part will be getting it sealed and making it look ok, lol.Stryker wrote:into the car for sure. You will have to seal the trunk from the cabin....this is made easy with expanding foam or like product. this way you can display that honey of an amp and it'll look clean as heck. My .02

ok, maybe I should clarify a little... lolttocs wrote:where do you think the sound goes if you fire them into the trunk?
since I dont have the car yet, I am concerned that if I build a box to fire into the trunk, the box its self is going to muffle/block the sound and defeat any gain I might get from firing into the trunk. I dont know how much of the rear parcel tray will be exposed... I will have to wait and see.
I suppose making the box as wide and tall as possible will help keep it shallow... which should open more of the rear parcel tray.
