McCauley sound

McCauley , has anyone ever used these as woofers in car audio, how are they? im asking because i found out that they are made in my home town

neva heard of em. Thats cool tho, if i in your shoes, I would be trying to get a job over there. I always wanted to build speakers for a living.

Back in the day i think they made woofers for alpine. They make decent pa woofers, pa speakers generally have a much higher sensitivity and less xmax.
If you wanted to use them in your car you would need a big box to get them to go low, probly sound great for rock music ...not so good with rap or electronica

If you can get them for cheap cause there local, maybe give it a try. but you will probly be better off getting car woofers

I dont believe they made any car audio woofer for anyone other then Hart Professional back in the early 90's.

They are up here in WA state in Puyallup, Hart was in Auburn, Anyone remember the Hart Monster series? The orignal and only 1000w RMS subwoofers with massive motors.

Hart was way ahead of the subwoofer game back in the day but the cost was $$$$$ and after the company went under and was sold no more Hart Monsters were made, every subwoofer was hand made and the coils were hand wound not done by a machine also they were the first car audio sub to have Ferrofluid cooled coils.

McCauley will still recone Hart Monsters but you will no longer get the ferrofluid injection. I talked with the ex owner of Hart he had an ad on our local CL with the last Hart Monster 12 in a one of akind build Obcon Banpass box for a CES trade show back in 92. He sold it for 150 bucks

I would have paid more for just the sub alone. I had 2 15" monsters back in the day holy shit it was loud!

This is what the monster looked like just picture it with another slug.

They were pretty basic looking and plain but took alot of juice and got low and loud.

This is the Mcauley 12" same basket as the Hart just a few cosmedic differences.

Unfortunatly I cannot find any of my photos of the ones I had

Wow, I havent heard of Hart for a looooooooooooooooooong time. My dads buddy who was and still is into high end home had a set of Hart 2 way comps, at the time I thought nothing of it until a few years later and it was too late he already sold them

Dont have time to dig atm, but i think they were mccauley?

I didnt know hart was made by them, learn something new every day

You are right they did do a set of subs for Alpine.
