M50 - Who stole my cap!

Post by Pillow »

Ignorant question of the day...

Image

... Why is there a hole for a cap that is not there?

Is there an advantage to adding a 4th cap?

Thanks!

All the M50's are missing that cap I added one to that spot when I replaced my caps.
Check my buyer/seller ratings http://phoenixphorum.com/gridracer-vt4548.html

I have more PG stuff than one guy ever needs.

Cost saving measure from PG. Three is more than enough.

However, I put a 4th in on EVERY M50 I ever work on.

O, that spot may interfere with the chassis on an Outlaw or Bandit (aluminum chassis are bent a bit different on these models), so maybe that is the reason PG never put one there.

SOLD! I will put in a fourth in that case :)

... I just thought it was odd to have the holes and not use it. Cheap M series ;)

Eric, have you noticed any differences in performance between the amps with 3 caps compared too 4?

I have not noticed any difference. I doubt there were be a difference if only one cap was installed either.
