PG Ti12d Elite

Post by nando79 »

Hello. I'm waiting on 2 TI12d's but I have a ? about the box size required. They'll be pushed by a JBL/Crown BPX2200.1 (2400w rms @ 4 ohms). I have a box that I used on 2 Eclipse Ti's and I was wondering if the PG's will work in it. The Eclipse's did very good in that very same box. The box is a dual 1.7 sqft tuned to 32-34hz. What you guys think about that, too small?. I've heard good things about the PG's but in bigger boxes. LMK, thanks...

Welcome to the forum Nando. 1.7 cu.ft. seems small to me. I would go with PG's recommended specs. Do a search and you will find the manuals, and you can also search the sub itself as there is a TON of useful materials posted throughout the years here.

Oh man, that's breaking my heart. I really like that box, but lets say I go with it, what can I expect? I had the Eclipse's in there and it was kick a**. I'm not ready to go to the drawing board again, lol. Thanks in advance...

Only one way to find out, do it and see what it sounds like to you. However PG put alot of time and research in writing the specs for the sub. You will get "optimal" output by following their advice. Why spend that much money on subs and not get their full potential?!

That box had also better be double-3/4" MDF or that woofer will destroy it.

Cool. I'm trying the ported first if I don't like it, I have a nice dual sealed 1.4 sqft laying around. I just preffer ported boxes for some reason...

Man I love those crown amps...

I agree that does sound a bit on the small side. You will lose the low end bass that the Elite 12D is geared towards. However it should still play tight and loud...
