buying new caps

my system has been sounding a little tired over the years. the car was in storage for almost 2 years because of a dui. and the rest of the time took care of my system not tinkering with it. or forcing it and playing good tones. so i think i wanna be better safe than sorry and replace the caps on all my ti amps.

this is what i have

500.4 x 4
600.2 x 3
1000.2 x 2
1200.1 x 1

what caps do i need to buy

just open them up and take a look then call up digi key and order em they,re pretty helpfull

None of those amps should need new caps. They are newer than when PG had all these cap problems.

well if they are circa 2002 then doesnt that mean its close to the 10 year age of a cap n e ways?

There are Rockford amps which are 20 years old and they don't have cap issues. PG used a manufacturer who apparently had a bad run of these, as they are the only amps I have seen with this level of cap problems. The Ti amps use a newer version of them, so they should not be a problem.

If you wish to replace them for peace of mind, then that is fine. However, replacing caps often causes other problems, so if an amp does not need them, I try to stress that people don't change them.
