Tantrum and XVR2/4 need fixing

Post by jbob0124 »

I have a Tantrum 1200.1 and a XVR2/4 (im not 100% sure if its the 2 ohm or 4 ohm)

The tantrum seems to have a short in the RCA inputs (just taking a guess) it works fully functional on occasions then seems to only be playing one side most of the time. I've yet to take the cover off and look inside. I'm electronically challenged when it comes to the guts on amps. Would this be something easy to fix or something that would have to be sent out to get fixed and just not worth it?

As far as the XVR2/4, I bought brand new and have never used. To be honest, i'm not sure why I even bought it, just something I had to have. Anyways, the plexi cover has some how managed to break on one side. What are the chances of finding a replacement for it?

On your Tantrum, the pots can oxidize over time. Turn them back and forth a bunch of times, and then back to where you had them set. That may solve your issue.
