How to build a speaker BOX

Post by GX3 »

So its 11:30PM you don't have any speakers to test an amp. There is no wood to make an enclosure and you need to test the amp. What to do............

First you need a set of .99 Orion speakers from the bay

Second you need the box the speakers came in with hardware/wire

Third item a roll of Duct Tape

Make sure the chambers are sealed from one another

Last thing to do is reinforce the corners

fyi for next time, KFC buckets work well for this and you can adjust the volume by cutting the top lip off of the bucket and then use some extra tape to hold/seal it.

I saw a pic of this that a customer did, and then took the car to the shop. funny shit.

A set of co500 coaxial's $30

A zx950 $500

A roll of ducktape $3

Making a speaker box out of cardboard, priceless...

(it needs some paint )

I once saw pics of a guy that found old tree trunk that was rotted out in the middle and hollow. So he slapped a board on one side, and the sub happened to fit on the other. The enclosure was the equivilant of a natural bazooka......

Why does the power terminal on the ZX950 look bent?

It's all cardboard, use a toilet paper roll.

Can't say I've been that hard up to test speakers, but I've been close.

If you need a longer port then the 3 1/2" of the TP roll, you can always move up to a paper towel roll.
