Ever meet a Good Cop?

Post by str3atwarrior »

Today, i passed a cop at 130km/h in a 100km/h limit zone, without my seatbelt on. It was on the highway. So naturally, the cop came after me. Before he arrive, i had time to put my seatbelt on. So he pulls me over, i make a big move to remove my seatbelt so he can see it, i take my wallet and my cards inside, i open the window and give him my ID.

He start by telling me that he's pulling me over for my seatbelt. I tell him that i just removed it, and that i'm sure he saw me. So he tells me that when i passed over him, i didn't had it. Like a stupid moron, the only answer i find is to tell him he couldn't possibly see this at 130km/h. He look at me in the eyes, and say ¨Huh?¨. So i tell him i said a speed like that. He then ask me if the car's mine. I say yes, and he tells me to wait for him a minute.

5 minutes later, he comes back to me without a ticket, and he gives me back my ID. He then tells me that he could have gave me 2 tickets, because he was sure i didn't had my seatbelt, and that i was speeding. He then make me a speach for maybe 2-3 minutes on the importance of seatbelts. At the end, he told me that it was funny the way i answered by instinct that he couldn't see my seatbelt at 130km/h, and that this is the reason he didn't gave me a ticket, because i made him laught. He then told me to have a nice day and he let me go!

Honestly, this was pretty weird! I used to always gets in trouble with cops when younger, couldn't smell them but today this guys just made me change the idea i had of cops.

Just wanted to share this! Did something simillar ever happened to you?

couple good stories

back when i had my loud ass setup in a s10, i was pulled over for blaring music. when the cop came to the window and heard that it was neil diamond's brother love's traveling salvation show...he just laughed and told me to enjoy neil more quietly and walked away.

more recently i had a unmarked police charger pass me doing (i'll covert to km for you) 145km in a 105km. so naturally i wanted to follow the fasted car in traffic! i catch up and put it in cruise control and follow him for a good 20 minutes. finally we come up to some traffic. we were in the middle lane and had both slowed back down to the speed limit. i get over to the un clogged left lane and keep on going the speed limit. he gets behind me and pulls me over! he comes to the window and says "do you always follow people going 30mph over the posted limit?" i say..."i wasnt really paying attention. i was just following you" :) he says "STOP DOING THAT!" and left! :hurr:

but i've had more then my fair share of asshat cops too. especially when i bought my first bmw when i was 21 (not really a expensive car, but they all thought i was a spoiled douche whose parents bought it) i was pulled over 16 times in the first 5 months of owning it...and i owned it less then 12 hours before i was pulled over the first time!

Yep i'm used to B*tches cops, that's why this amazed me so much! Already got a ticket for driving 105 in a 100 speed limit, already got a ticket for carrying spraypaint, hell even got a ticket for walking side to a road!

Mostly good cops for me.

Crashed my car into back of another car (bad weather), got a ticket, went to court, officer dismissed the case before I even got there.

Personally know this cop that patrols the area where I work. Got pulled over a few times by him for speeding to work in the morning (running a little late). Told me to slow down and be safe, no tickets. I was about 65mph in a 35mph zone. Which is 105 km/h in a 55 km/h zone...or something like that. I got an Escort 8500 since these events.

On another note, km/h looks impressive until you convert it to mph...lol.

Bad cop was one time on my break at work (only 15 minute break), I was going to Tim Horton's, in a hurry to get there. I was NOT going over the speed limit, just accelerating fast. So some dick cop pulls up beside me after I get done ordering at the drive thru. Tells me to roll my fucking window down, lots of cursing...I honestly don't even remember what he said. Someone must have pissed in his Wheaties that morning. No ticket...he didn't have anything on me...because I didn't do anything wrong/illegal. He just wasted about 5 minutes of my time.

I am almost 30 and I have never been pulled over. This is a very bad thing, as the longer I go without even knowing what being pulled over is like, the more nervous I am about getting pulled over while driving. I have never even been pulled over while riding with a friend, and all my friends tend to drive crazy.

My wife was pulled over twice, and both times she had no shirt on. Once she was changing in her car while driving (not too smart if you ask me), the other time she took her shirt off for the heck of it. Both times she was speeding, and both times the cop gave no ticket and let her go.

Hmm, I wonder why she didn't get a ticket.

I've only had good experiences with cops. Once I was driving home from college a few years back, which was an 8 hour trip, when my heater core went out in my truck and started pouring antifreeze all over the inside of my cab. I pull over and start to remove it when I hear a voice behind me ask, "Is everything alright?" I turn around to see a state trooper about 3 feet from me. I didn't hear him pull up, or walk up to me, and I hadn't even been broken down for 5 mins! I tell him what's wrong and he drives me to the auto parts store, brings me back to my truck, and waits until I get the heater core exchanged and get the truck running again! He even gave me his card and said if I ever break down near his area, to give him a call. Anytime of day. Pretty cool if you ask me.

your heater core must be significantly easier then my mustangs was, took me 2 days to get to it and replace it no way it would happen on the side of the road.

I got a GREAT cop story, long so bare with me.... I use to work at an install bay that was really really disorganized and was also an offsite bay. Because of this we could almost get away with anything we wanted as the store owner didn't even want our dirty asses in the store unless we were pickin a car up. We had a large system planned for a 2 day job when he cleaned a ditch out with his car and had to cancel. Bored and no plans we decided to take trip to a local head shop as I had been wanting a bong and he needed something to. Needless to say we got in the right state of mind and took off, the store was over an hour away. We got there made our purchases and then took off. We were on our way out of town when I noticed a cop that as so far up my ass that I could not see his winshield. I told my buddy to hide the shit as we were being pulled over and sure enough he lit us up. Did I forget o mention that I was driving a room mates car that was out of town? It was a 95 mustang gt vert with 4 inch exhaust but unfortunatly the plate on it was illegally registered to an old car of his that he just threw on. needless to say it was loud enough to draw attention and we got it..

So I give the cop my id, and act like I am digging for the registration while trying to hide the new pipe my buddy just bought knowing that there is none in the car. At that time my buddy hands over his id, and then his concealed weapons permit........ The cop asked if he was carrying and to just tell where it is not to grab or point it and he said yes it was holstered in the front of his pants. AT that piont the cop got real serious, hands on the dash don't breath ect while he took control of the 9 I didn't know he carried. When the cop came back he again asked for the registration and insurance whre I told him that it was a friends and I couldn't find it. He ran the vin, it was clean and then suprised us when he said that something just came up and he was going to have to leave us, our lucky day.. he gave him his gun back in pieces and then took off, I went and wiped my asss.........

2 cops I ran into.... one told me he'd let me know the outcome of him tailgating me undercover at 130kmp/h... $450AUD and 8 demerit points and 12months licence suspension later, I got the answer I didn't want to hear.

And the other cop made sure I got locked up for 3 years for a crime I never committed!

So, I'm sorry.. no good cop stories here.... actually, hang on... I was seeing a cop for a month.. and yes, she DID use her handcuffs on me in the sack! hehehe

I have a friend who is a cop and told me the best things to do to help get out of a ticket. 1rst when he comes up, have your dome light on, windows down and it will be a little more reasuring to the cop if he can see your hands as well. either have then on the steering wheel or better yet rest them on the window sill. Of course yes sir, no sir and kiss his ass sir... Do not start diggin around the car when the lights come on looking for your id and registration, wait till he asks and then let him know what you are going to go for and where it is in the car.

A Veteran's plate with a Service ID card passed along with my driver's license normally instills instant respect from most cops. No tickets here for, I can't remember, but many stops.

Most cops are cool and will only tag you if you are rude or did something really stupid and deserve a ticket anyway. Put yourself in their shoes when you get pulled over. If you get your hair up, so will the cop and the cop got the ticket pad. Even straight up admitting your fuckup will sometimes get you off on the spot.

Cops in Canada CANNOT accept payment on the spot like in some jurisdictions down there y'all. It's illegal here.

I got a story about Canadian cops

I got pulled over speeding in a speed trap when I picked up a buddy in Vancouver a few years ago. After waiting for about a 1/2 hour and no one coming to talk to me at all, no joke, the dick head cops finally tend to me after dealing with the other eight cars, even the ones pulled over after me. I had WA plates, so they were asshats to me for no reason. At this point I have just been pulled over and no communication has occured at all. So they guy came over finally, issued my ticket, took another ten minuets, and then said I could be on my way. I then drove about 10 feet away and crumbled up the ticket and threw it back towards the cop and kept driving  To this day I haven't paid it! I got some threatening letters from the Canadian insurance something or other that I just ignored, and I haven't been bothered in a few years now  Apparently the Canadian government can't do anything to US citizen once they cross the border, and the credit bureaus don't do anything since they have no access to US info, and vice versa. I don't think that I can legally drive in BC now though, but I am not sure, and don't care :) Good thing my buddy lives in Edmonton now! Asshats, that's what you get for being a dick for no reason :?

Yep that happened to me once. I had an english friend with me that don't speak a word of french. We were comming back from, well let's just say it waesn't legal. We just ditched the car we borrowed, and were walking down the road to my house when cops cars came from nowhere and surrounded us. I knew they had nothing on us so i told my friend to stay nice and cool. Cops came out, none of them were actually speaking english, and they knew i was speaking french, but all i've done was answering to them in english, and my friend's too, so they were mad as hell and tried to arrest us for any little thing they could find, but we had nothing on us apart a 5 of weed. Note that i was a minor at that time, so all they've done was making me ditch the weed away, and make us a lift home, then they told us that they were watching ourself, and that they were to get us someday. My friend moved to Florida, never seen him since, too bad. I left town soon after that, so never had trouble with theses cops after. But everytime i go back neir this city i check myself, cuz i'm sure they remember me for all the trouble i got them into when i was younger :P

So yeah, can't explain why, but at least in Quebec, cops are bitches with english peoples.

I was watching an episode of speeders and the cop they were with stated that if they can make him laugh, he rarely gives them a ticket. So from now on if I get pulled over, I'm stripping down and putting marker on my face like a clown.

A few years back I was on my way home from my grandfathers funeral, which was 325 miles away, and as I get to INDY, ~ 55 miles from home, I get pulled over for doing 70 mph in a 55 mph zone. I knew he was after me so when I saw him get in his car, so I proceeded to get over to the left while maintaining my speed if by chance he wasn't after me, but it was obvious he was after me.

After a few mins w/my ID and such, and knowing what I was on my way home from, he let me go, for the reason he said, Sense you're a Stewart fan I'll let you go. Then he asked if I was a Kurt Busch fan, I replied HELL NO!, He laughed and said good, cause then I'd have to give you a ticket.
