I wish I had pics of my first system. It would be very entertaining to all.

Rusted 1973 Impala Custom, spray bombed black from light blue factory. Enough rust in the rear quarters that my cat would actually jump in the trunk through the wheel well and take a ride. I had a Sony XR7180 tape deck, I really liked that radio. Two 6X9's, one each set under the front seat facing forward for my highs run off the radio. Yes if I hit the brakes too hard they would slide forward on the floor. For the bass, I had the dual 8" Ultimate box run off a Jensen something. Also a pair of crappy Kenwood 6X9 subwoofers in a plywood box running off a Concord 100 watt amp. Neither box was mounted, they both just slid around in the trunk. It was a total mess anyway you looked at it. The only thing that was mounted and looked right was the radio. Eh, it was all a 16 year old kid could afford. Not to mention I did not have a clue what I was doing. It sure was fun though.

Wow, this is great. The install sucks, but the guys comes on here to defend it and justify what he did. That takes guts and is very impressive. It also makes me hate the install a lot less.

So long as this guy does not go "vance" on us, I have no complaints with the install (inside joke for us regulars).

No longer really "in tune" with the audio industry, and probably have not been for some time.
Hands down the forum's most ignorant member...

x2

It takes guts to show up and claim the install! All of our first installs sucked balls I think, and I doubt I would claim my first install if it showed up on the net and I stumbled across it!

Welcome to the phorum, and I look forward to seeing your next install!

I don´t see any problem with his install as long as he likes it. At least he has the possibillity to get his gear to work. Mine is hanging on a wall doing nothing at all! :idiot: I can´t wait to finally start working on my Bimmer

My first 914 was that bueatiful color green. actually it was a olive green. I painted all of my equipment to match the car. It really thumped. I dissasembled every piece and hand painted each piece under my front porch. I was probably 18 years old at the time, but i am now 31 and still have all the equipment. in fact i discoverd this forum about a week ago and i LOVE it, even if i should be shot.

I promise to use a better color for my new build, and i have been thinking about taking all the metal to a local powdercoater.

p.s. i just found this thread by using the search function :hurr:

Wow!!! I almost forgot about this thread.AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH....Welcome to the forum. Im glad to hear this was one of your first installs,I just cant get over the color  Im sure it would have looked better in the other Porsche, color matched and all.
As I write this, my mess of wires and current amp mounting this install kicks ass........................................................................BUT I STILL HATE THE PUKE GREEN :P
This is the place to be if you are true PG FAN..................please, no more green though

PS I am the phorum PI so I will have a bullet waiting if I see anymore green
