What do you think of theses?

Post by str3atwarrior »

Just a quick post to know what you all think of theses. I got this package yesterday. Tested the 2 XS104DVC, working great, all coil working! Same for the amplifier, it looks old and cosmetic condition is not that good, but it works great!

Also, how much do you think the whole lot would worth. Can't tell you how much i payed, but damn it was cheap! Just wanna know what you all think!

Thanks

Oh yeah, almost forgot, i will probably install one of these XS104 on the other side of my trunk, in another fiberglass custom box, so i would be able to get rid of the ugly wood box in my trunk :p

:P Nah, that's what happens when you give such a system to a rich girl who don't really care... But she didn't knew the value of all this lot so i got it for a nice price :)

NICE! the route 66, even in rought shape is a kickass amp. you should check the caps if you are looking to keep it.

and the xs10's are nice. they dont play very low, but they are fast, clean and dont need a ton of power.

that 66 would be a awesome step up in your cavalier

I dunno, i personally love my current sound system, i'd like to add another XS124 but can't find them nowhere. Just bought the Blaupunkt amp last month. I made an auction on ebay for the route 66, will see what happens

I had a couple XS124 several years ago. They sounded very nice for entry-level subs, but part of the surrounds and spider separated from the frame on both drivers. Maybe a bad batch of glue or something in the manufacturing proces.. I don't know. They weren't abused at all. Nothing that couldn't be fixed with a little CA though.

I enjoyed my XS124 for their musicality and softness, but they didn't bumps hard or track fast bass lines with the same force and accuracy as my RSdCs :D

The Route 66 is badass. Love the M-series.

The XS is one of my all time favorite subs. Had two XS104's years ago, now I just have one. I'd love to have a DVC version.

You should of at least let us take a stabe at the rt. 66 before you put it on ebay.

did you short the positive and negative together after the subs? if so that shouldn,t be hooked just 2 pos to the amp and 2 negs to amp

Is your amp 2ohm stable?

Does it have 1 or 2 channel? Is it bridgeable?

Needs more info on your amp to help you!

And by the look of this diagram, you are not ok. The jumper between + and - on the second coil must NOT be there!

From what i see, you have a 2 channel bridgeable amp. If it's not 2ohm stable, you could hook each coil to one channel. I think 200w is peak power, so it's less than likely that you amp is gonna provide enough power for this sub, but it might still sounds good if you can hook it at 2ohm, or if 200w is RMS power of the amp.
