This weekend is NOPI at Atco raceway in Jersey, so my crew are all going there. I would go too, but they want $45 a day to get in.. Sod that.

When my car is done yeah, I'd pay it but to drive a primered car up there with battered up winter rims? no thanks lol.

My buddy Tom (RD2 tib) has just had a pro install done in his car, it's gorgeous so he's redone his interior (with some fibreglass work we did) and he's showing his car. Nice car, prefer my one tho to the second gen..

I'm taking my time on this, there's no rush now and it's a good way to relax. Next wednesday I'm going back to the shop to prep the car all over (flatten and spot putty any imperfections) and then the week after on the weds we're gonna tape it up and take it into the booth. Taking the next day off so I can buff it too :)

Just went out to see it in the daylight and it's apparent that the debadge needs more work. I didnt realise the whole area was indented like the hood. No probs, hours work tops to get it right :)

I'm really happy with how it turned out, there was about 4 dents around the gas door froim where attendants had gotten sloppy and whacked it with the pump. There was also alot of chips and scratches there too from where someone tried to take ice off the car with a scraper. Dumbass.

You should shave that antenna while you're at it.

Oh indeed, that's coming off, I have a WRC one ordered from the UK with my fender repeaters.

Anyways I have some DAMN good news. I have scored some rims..

I have been back and forth about what I wanted, first I was going to go with Enkei but the ones I like are $800 rims and tires. I REALLY like Tenzo rims, and as fate would have it a buddy on my tiburon forum has just sold his Tib and put up these -

17x7 with 5k miles on them and the tires. Asking price? $500, about half of what that package would be. So Im getting them, great part is he's only over the bridge in Phila so I can run over there in a week or so and get em :)

Very happy, theyre just what I wanted, black with the polished lip so you can easily repair any rash.

Tires are pretty much new too, even have the lil nipples on them still.

Cant wait, theyre perfect at a perfect price too :) yay !

Or these.. (Falken Explicit)

Image

Both run around $700 with crap tires..

The Tenzo's aint cheap, check this out..

Used in alot of race/drift applications so I hear, but the look is basically spot on what I wanted at half the price, yipee :)

Yay, another day of repairs :)

I thought I would get sick of this, but every time another dent and ding vanishes I get more amped about getting it as close to perfect as I can.

I reversed into a woman a few months back and today I repaired the impression of her license plate, along with some other scuffs and impressions from god knows what. Back bumper is now as smooth as a womans arse as is the front one, and I finished off the debadge.

This will all be painted on weds, at the end of which (weds that is) I should have a very flat and unshiny car that is ready to be cleaned with chemicals before being painted the week after.

And back to the front end..

Got out the vents and finally cleared them. Man they had been packed for months lol.

Image

After noticing that the mesh was taking a serious battering I figured it needed another painting and then loads of clear. I wasnt going to clear it but I decided to in the end.

Image

Both items will be going back on the car when it's painted, oh and here is the custom one off plate frame I made..

The frame itself heralds from a 60's caddy deville, I love it. And the mesh backing will sit behind it so that I can get a good firm mount on the front bumper, it will also follow the mesh 'mouth' below.
