if u tune a amp w a dmm, what would happen if u have the gain a little louder than a dmm reads

Then at that volume you risk clipping the amplifier. On music, PG's high end amps have headroom, so it's generally ok to do so. The amp will produce the higher power for brief periods. Just don't run heavy bass or test tones and you would be alright.

not recomended to adjust it higher then what the meter reads, could be bad bad bad...........

I am going to buy a handheld o-scope to tune the system I am building in my mustang now. I think it will help since I am adding the eq215ix and will also be using alpines imprint.

This is the correct way to tune your system, they are around a $100 shipped and will fit in the palm of your hand, if anyone is interested in one let me know. I will be showing it when I finish and post pics of the completed system. This same unit is being used by a number of industry pros and getting good results for tuning systems easily.

Would anyone out there be interested in renting a o-scope to scope your system? I would ship it to you with the rca attachments, use it for a couple of weeks and then ship it back in the same package. I am not looking to rape anyone I am thinking only $10+ shipping, and maybe some kind of deposit to ensure it comes back. This would allow you to correctly set the gains on your system rather then getting close witn your meter.

Just a quick question, what do you play to test with an o-scope? Pink Noise? 60hz? A friend of mine is letting me borrow his scope for a few weeks and I've never set my gains this way before.
