Forgot to tell you all what car I picked up...

Post by Tad »

As I mentioned when I was selling my gear, I was in the market for a new car. I picked it up about 2 weeks ago.

It's a 2003 Boxster S in Seal Grey Metallic over black leather. It has all the 911 Carrera goodies incl. 6-speed Getrag transmission, Brembo brakes all around, Litronic self-aiming headlights, Sport Seats, Bose 11-speaker system (Yeah, I know... but it sounds decent, and I ain't changin' it til it breaks), better wheels, more HP, etc. And drives like a mothertruckin' dream. Seriously. It's amazing.

Truth: I always thought Boxsters were 'girlie' cars. And I desperately wanted a 911, and that's what I was looking at... Until I drove a Boxster. I would have preferred a Cayman, but I got this for less than half of the cheapest Cayman I could find, so this is it, and it kicks much ass!

Anyway, thanks to those who bought my stuff and facilitated this upgrade.

If you want to see the ol' WRX, the dealer has it on Portland Craigslist, just search for 2003 WRX Wagon.

Cheers,
Tad

Thanks, gentlemen!

No, no race times or pink slips yet... I probably won't be quite as hard on this one as the last.

The Boxster is definitely slower than my WRX in a straight line, but the Boxster absolutely kills it in the corners, and just feels so much smoother and cooler.

Top Gear may have had a stock WRX, but probably not one with the upgrades I had (bigger turbo, injectors, fuel pump, intercooler, catless, engine management). I got most of the performance modding out of my system with that car (thankfully, as it's a lot more expensive to do to a Porsche!).

That's not to say I won't customize this a bit, but mostly body mods, as I can't even get to the engine to work on it!

Hope you're all well. thanks for the positive comments. It's raining... but I suddenly feel the urge to go for a drive! See ya!

PS- 2 seconds difference in lap times is generally considered an eternity on the racetrack...
