no no no... i hear ya, but i have it in vector in AI CS3,
I merely saved it as a jpg for review on the web.
know what i mean?
I did it by hand in AI, and saved for web devices... so the res is low that youre looking at now...but i could make it 6' long if i needed or wanted to.
did all the work and research to determine what the fonts were called, downloaded them and made it up to size on/off the cover itself. measures 10" long as it is exactly on the cover.

its 3 different fonts....
i wonder if companies do this to make it difficult to imitate or replicate...?
i mean it took me some time to figure out and TBH not even sure if they are exact exact, but looks close enough for me for a restoration job of a 20 yr old amp... i dunno...
we'll see whence it''s on the amp.

so now after that rte 66 contest (grats to ttocs)
question is now
when i do an OEM restore...
what do you guys say/think/feel
should i even be consistent with the slight errors, typo's or inconsistencies i see/find when doing these OEM restores...or if i see a blatant typo or whatever should i fix it for the restoration???
WSYG?

Well if it is a true OEM restore, then I say you make it as exactly as the original as possible, including "errors" or "flaws".
I compare it to restoring a muscle car. If it is a true restoration, you put back all the original parts as they were when it was new. No adding disc brakes or upgrading the stereo or suspension. If you make changes, I do not consider it a true restoration, in the sense and meaning of the word.
Resto-mod would be more like it.
Just my $.02USD

interesting.. i would have thought ppl would like to have typo's and the like corrected...
guess i would have to do it on a case by case basis... i dunno. interesting though.. i kinda feel just the opposite- i would like to have real words used, and no inconsistencies if i could help it on a restore- BUT do understand the purist's POV, and like to have it just the way it was. so i can see both sides.
