Just curious if anyone is running this amp, got one for $40 just wanna know if its worth the swap for an MTX TC6001. They r close to the same power ratings just the alpine has no bass boost. I will be adding the BASS CUBE this week, think that will act as enough boost on the Alpine??? I think it will just looking for opinions/first hand experience. All input appreciated!!!

wow thats an old amp

the mtx will probably have more balls

but for 40 bucks put it in your car and see if it is enough

Bass boost is the devil anyways. You should avoid using it whenever possible. For every 3dB of gain you dial in on that knob, you are asking the amp to produce double the power at the boost frequency. That can easily drive an amp to exceed its power limits, which causes clipping.

I dont use that much, it's probably not even set to +3db, but I get wut ur sayin, keep the signal clean. I'm gonna try the apline out tomorrow night see wut I like better. A friend of mine had the same amp pushing 2 10's and 2 12's and it sounded really nice. We'll see I guess. Thanks for the input

take the 10" out and it will sound better or do 4 of the same size...

I'm only running 2 10'' DVC pioneers @ 2ohm stereo. My buddy had 4 single 4ohm subs running the same way and it was one of the hardest hitting SQ stereos i've ever heard. I will be upgrading subs soon though.
