That black heat sink really makes it. I like the total package. Nice show piece.

I would love to get in line for a stock repro.

The stripe and the black heatsink really make it pop! Much better.

Some constructive criticism... some of the input icons still need to be aligned better, and I don't like the two different route 66 logos on the same cover. One is enough. Even makes me feel like all those pictures on the top make the amp too busy... the raised RT66 logo is perfect on its own. I like the ones on the bottom though! Also the drive the dream logo especially looks somewhat grainy, or is that just the camera?

think it might be a combination of camera and the actual way it is...in person I see now that you mentioned it does look lil grainy...

the deciding factor to put the other artwork on cover - whereas my original idea/intent was going to be just the rte 66 badge...but here's what happened
I had though that when I looked at my nib set of 4 OEM PG coasters
which all those say phoenix gold at top, limited edition 1993 (just like the badge nexxt to the woman....
so seeing those coasters I have, and knowing I had two other badges as spares/extras, I said i'd just use one of those and call it a day- BUT GUESS WHAt?!- thoe two extras I have as you can see - dont /aren't exatly the same as the coasters. AND I was deat set against breaking open the coaster set and using one of those...for a minute I thought I would use 1, and then be able to offer the other three as a toss in, and the badge and coasters would all match...BUT I decided against that- as I didn't want to open the NIB coaster pack. So I went with one of the spare ones I had, and consequently there was no mention of PG or limited edition rte 66 copyright date and all that crap- so then the artwork came into play as we have now... so long story short- I didn't have any extra rte 66 badge like I had w/ the coasters and went in this direction.

I have to agree though- even though / while I do like it, I also feel a little busy, perhaps a lil too busy....

now it wouldn't be nothing to strip and do over- but think imma just gonna move on, button this one up, sell for what I can, and use as learning expirience or just a good piece to say- see now here was the first I ever did...and here is the 4th, 5th, 6th, and hopefully we are 1) using this as learning expirience, 2) making improvements over time.

so yeah I like it, even though I did/do notice some imperfections...if it was for a real customer, I think I would have to cover over again, and possibly the base too- last night when I coated it with the clear- everything worked and came out great- came in this morning and there are some cosmetic flaws on the cover that im not thrilled about....but im not- repeat NOT, going to do it all over again.

but have learned a ton, and know now what I need to do (like an extra step) when I finish the artwork application to clean up the solution and adhesive that squeezes out when im pressing on the artwork....it looks to have like what you would think is coffee splatter- not big or heavy, but there nonetheless, and it don't wipe off, so it would be indictive of it being on the white color, but under the clear-
it happened once before and at that time I chalked it off as some kind anomoly in the coating...but given it happened again on something that had artwork applied also, I think it is residue left over from the application process.

so yeah still in learning stages, but at least im learning from it!

hehe

but what a looker for an amp though, and to think eric has been all through it as well and did all caps and resistor mods- its not a bad amp for that sq head that wants or is looking for that one amp system iyam- but put it in a black chevelle or something or maybe a dart! hehe JK

so onceput all back together I think what ill do is run it to the bay at a .99 cent auction w/ no reserve as I prolly won't get what I have into it (money/time/effort), but hopefully within the neighborhood.

I might also include the 14" OEM rte 66 sign I have with it, NIB set of coasters, and maybe some other rte 66 chachkas...

just the raised route 66 and the "route line" across the amp...i wish you had a way to kind of simulate that on the amp to see how it looks...i too think it's too much on the amp...it looks too busy! NICE! but just kinda busy.....i love that black and white theme! that is so nice! just imo.....i like it alot...but i would like to see it like i suggested just to see how it would look.......but i'm no artist......your work speaks for it's self! so i need not say anymore...good f'in job matt!

I think if you polished the edge of the fins it would really pop! just wrap some 220 grit around a piece of wood and it shouldn't take long, worst case scenario just recoat it but I bet it would really look sharp!

so the question(s) is/are...

1) would I get suuport from folks if ?I decided to re-do the cover, not using the artwork, and just a badge

2) and what if I opened up the new set of coasters, and used one of those...then offered/included the balance of 3 coasters to go with the sale? then badges and coasters would all match?

what say you guys?

im tempted to re-do, b/ of the slight imperfections on cover and the fact that I think it really is a lil too busy- but would need at least I think an hand made in us icon/logo on there at least

You are not putting these in production right? This was a test work of art? It looks great, leave it as is. Unless someone wants to pay for something specifically to be changed and makes it worth your while.

like I said above if I wanted one I would want it as original as possible. They got it right the first time as far as I was concerned.

hell yea I would buy one just plain jane.

I could consider something personal on the back, just for me but the top could only look one way for me... Stuff looks great man, keep perfecting it and I think it will be a good investment for you.

HEHEHE thanks Tom, Mike holmis, and everyone else !

yeah like the looks of it

now in full discloser... with your nose right in it you can see that the line is not a perfect perfect straight line... and something i would need to be mindfull of in the furture... but there are two spots that the line zigs or zags that causes a little bend in the line.. but can only see if you look like real real close and stuff

spots are circled in red... but given its still just the second/third time... I'm loving it!
