i somehow managed to get the large snap-ins out without pulling a via, but i did loose 2 solder-pads. thats an easy fix though. here is a macro shot of the charcoal:

ive got the parts ordered. just playing the waiting game now. in the meantime i will apply some elbow grease and attempt to clean the board up nice and spiffy. anybody got any good tips for cleaning this 20yr old rosin up?

and also, apparently the transistors were soldered AFTER the board was installed in the heat-sink?

probly a good idea to go ahead and flow some fresh solder into these critical joints that are pretty much relying on the via only for current flow?
