RSD 1200.1 + Elite Ti12D....will I be happy?

Post by 1Quik7 »

So I have an RSD 1200.1 and an Elite 12D with a 1.4cu ft box lost somewhere in translation(UPS) and I'm starting to wonder if I'll be happy with just one 1200.1?
I guess I didn't realize how power hungry the Elite is, I've seen RMS ratings from 700-1200. I'm not looking to shake my car apart, but it's always nice being louder than the HS kids with their Audiobahn's.

I'm a hardcore old-school PG fan and I'm not crazy about the RSD line, but the price I couldn't pass up. If I were to get another amp, should it be another 1200.1 or a lesser wattage?

Also, does anyone run 4ga. speaker wire in/out of the box?

Oh, btw....Hi, I'm new!

I've never personally run the Elite but the conventional wisdom on the phorum is the more powah, the better.

I would avoid moving to a different amp with less power for the elite. Some people are throwing 2000W at one of them and they are loving it. People who don't put enough power on them are typically less impressed.

The RSD1200.1 is capable of 1400-1500 watts at 2 ohms. Should be more than enough for it!
