looks like I will be looking for a new primary care dr. I went in today for an appt that was a follow up from being disharged from the hospital and to get a script refilled that I needed. I have been having issues with my ins that has unfortunatly left me inbetween insurance companies. My cobra ins from my previous employer ran out, and they need to send me some form for the new insurance to take over. I have requested this form 3 times, they told me they would send it 3 times and now 2 months later I am still with out ins. The new place has even cashed the checks we sent but has not sent any new info. Because of this we said we would pay cash if neded. When I explained all this to the counter cunt she then informed me that they would not be able to see me. She said it is aginst the law for her to collect cash for the service if we had insurance, I again explained to her that I did not have it as I was inbetween waiting for forms. She would not budge, just said to make another appt and then called security.
I was amazed when I did a quick search online to find a phone number or email address that the first 3 sites that popped up to leave a rating for the dr had nothing good to say. Most of them said that he was not a bad dr, but that the staff was rude, abrasive and just didn't care. It was amazing to hear people name the sam cunt I had problems with. I already have a lawyer for my disability stuff going on now I just need to find out if he would be interested in this. I thought that if you set a price on a service in US dollars, that you had to take them when offered? We offered to pay cash outright for the service but she wouldn't hear it. I have had enough problems with the insurance run around that that I do not need help from the dr's office. I hope I can su the shit out of them but at the very least I am going to stir the fuck out of the pot in that office as legally as I can.

I thought about it tonight and I have a pretty good plan. We have lived in this town for 35 yrs and know alot of good people. 2 of these good freinds that we have known for decades now are writters for the local paper and think it would be a great story with healthcare being in the news already....
Beyond that I made a post in the rant-n-rave section of craigs list and gave links to the sites with the bad reviews, and a request for anyone that knew people treated badly at this office to reply to join a class action lawsuit. The last 2 times I was in that office I was witness to upset people where no matter how hard we tried we could not help but hear most of the storyin that little waiting room.
I am going to call the office tomorrow and tell them I want to file a formal complaint at the office about the office worker before I took it to the state/federal level of complaints. I want to get the offices responce although I expect them to do little to nothing about it, at least I hope. All I really want to do is get their attention to the post in CL and have them read the bad reviews if they have not already. When I have their attention there I am going to tell them that I have already had two responces, of course I can't give names but the stories sound like (insert the stories from the people I heard earlier above). At that point I wil also give them the card of our good friends at the paper that we will be talking too in case they want to give a responce, and that after my dad worked in the medical physics world for 40 yrs that he knows who to give the complaints to a the state/federal level.
Now all these things are true(as far as they know) so I am hoping that with these threats and the threat of litigation that they will see that it would be cheaper to pay me off for the pain and suffering they caused. I am not sure what that would be worth as I wonder what the retainer is that they have their lawyer on. Ideally the number I would shoot at them would be right at, or just under that retainer so after some thought they would just go ahead take the easy way out and pay.
What do you guys think, is this legal? It seems to be it would be extortion if I were not a victim of his shitty staff. Does this sound like it will work?

Who knows if it'll work, the law and it's interpretation is always strange to me.
Not to be inflammatory but I have a question. Under what grounds is a business in America required to accept private business? Are doctor's offices under some kind of legal obligation to provide care to anyone that can pay, be it insurance or cash? Is there anything illegal about not accepting cash in your circumstance? Are discrimination laws in play here?

under the patient rights and responsabilitys listed in the hospital that he is a providor for they have to see anyone no matter what their ability to pay is. If he is a subscriber to their network i wold assume he has to obay the same rules the hospital does. They made the appt for me. There is a set price for a primary care visit right? He was not takin x-rays or anything else, just following up from a hospital visit the way his office told me to and scheduled me for. So now imagine what you would do in this circomstance where according to what the bitch said, it is now illieagal for any dr to take money from me and see me because I "might" have insurance. Of course I have no proof of this coverage and assumed I was on the hook for my last $4300 hospital stay, but now it is aginst the law. She lied to me and refused me service, to my care providor for a visit I really needed for no ligitimate reason, then had me escorted from the premisis by security. I didn't sleep last night because of it and now need to find another dr to fill my health care needs. I am already in a debilitated state at 40 lbs under my normal weight and fighting this disability I have developed, that pain and suffering is worth something as far as I a concerned.
At the very least I really just want to stir up a shit storm in that office. I hope that they waste a bunch of time on it in meetings, discussions/policy changes and really just cause them the same trouble they caused me. I want them to not sleep for a night after reading the article about them worried about what people will think of them. We are talking about hitting the parking lot outside the mall with small leaflets just asking if they really know their dr and to just to a google search on it to see what they are really like.
Over the years that I have been suffering from this crap I have seen some really shitty service, stuff that when it happens to you that you want to go apeshit over and go postal. I am tired of them causing me pain when they are supposed to be helping them and I am looking forward to at the very least taking some time/sleep from that asshole.... It keeps me warm at night

it is both. He is my primary care who works as a care giver in the hosptial. It was his order to come in and see him, his office made the order when I left the hospital. He knows the seriousness of my problems and just doesn't care.
I realized a little while ago that I mentioned lawyer while I was in his office. They are gonny button up tighter then a virgin asshole in prison and will not talk to me now. I have to go in tomorrow to get my records but I bet they will tell me that I am not allowed in the office just to be difficult.
Our friend at the paper called and said that it was on and that we need to type up our story and give to her as she wanted to write about it.
