Hey guys I posted awhile back about not knowing which amp I had, the 250 or 350. It's custom painted so hard to tell. I sent some pics and came to your guy's knowledge being the 250(can't remember how it was distinguished between the two). Anyways I have a crossfire vr 705d amplifier wich is 300 watts rms stable @ 2 ohms on the mono sub channel being that I have (2) 10" dvc cerwin vegas @ 150 watts rms each. Problem being that I cant wire to 2 ohm I called crossfire to see if I could run the amp @ 1 ohm. They said try it but dont recomend it. What had happened is the protection light comes on imediataley. Back to the P.G. amp. I researched the specs @ phoenix gold and to my surprise it's not 1ohm stable. I"m running that little 250 @ 1 ohm with all 300 watts and it handels it! Lol. Do you think it's possibley the 350? I have'nt ran it long enough to see how hot it would get but I know it will not cut out. Oh yea and one more thing, do you know were I could score on some of those plastic side windows on that amp. Mine are badly cracked. Thanks.
Well the ZX250 is an inch smaller in one dimension than the ZX350, so that might be the easiest way to tell them apart. 10.2" overall as opposed to 11.2"
It also sounds like you're running it at 1Ohm bridged. Neither amp is really rated for that, so you're doing well!
they both have a thermal protection, but I think they also lack a fuse to protect them as well.... What size wire do you have running to it and what is it fused at?
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.
Only the bigger ZX500 lacks an internal fuse as far as I'm aware. The 250 and 350 have 30A & 40A respectively. (or at least, that's what they should have!)
