Alright folks, I have a question for you. For those of you who don't have sigs on, here is a list of what I have:
pioneer p9 combo
6 speaker boston acoustic premium sound (factory) powered by jl audio a6450
2 12in pg ti elites soon to be powered by an autotek mx-3000.1
I have a soundstream bx-20z bass processor I want to throw in the mix. It says to connect the rca's before the crossover. The deq connects to the deck via optical cable, so I can't connect there. The next possible connection would be just before the amp. My question is, is this ok if I turn the crossover on the deck to full range and then use the crossover on the amp? Or is this just something I can live without? I've never used anything like this before so I'm not sure what to do. Thanks for any and all help.

Re: Bass enhancers
I am a little suprised they would say to do it before the cross over personally.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.
Re: Bass enhancers
It's a parametric EQ for the sub-bass, so you definitely can put it after the crossover. All you lose is the ability to EQ the midbass. Doesn't your P9 have way better EQing in it anyways? Or do you just want to mess around with it from the front seat, without fiddling in an interface?
If you can live with having the processor only on the sub, you would still get the convenience of being able to change EQ slopes and frequencies right from your headunit.

Re: Bass enhancers
you could experiment with it a little to see what sound's better like try it before the crossover and see if the midbass sound's better or like crap, and maybe compare it to the sound of the head units eq and then you will know what sounds better to you.

Re: Bass enhancers
Uh well? I bought the thing when I hooked up subs to my factory radio via pac harness. 2 weeks later the pac blew out on me. I then decided the p9 was going in. The p9 has a 31 band eq. Every 1/3 octive, .5db/1step. The sub range is from 20hz-100hz (-24db-+10db). There is also slope adjustments form pass, -6db/oct to -36db/oct (every -6db/oct totaling 6 steps). So I would say thats a pretty good eq! lol. I guess it's easier to turn a knob than a few button presses. therefore I just wanna monkey with it and see if I wanna keep or sell it. What I don't understand though is, there are sweep and wide dials on the SS. It tells me the sweep is for picking the frequency I want to maximize (27-63hz) while the wide is for how wide of a frequency range there will be. Please be patient with me I wanna get this right.stipud wrote: All you lose is the ability to EQ the midbass. Not sure I understand that. There is only 1 input for the sub amp. I am running a 4 way active setup..Doesn't your P9 have way better EQing in it anyways?

Lets say I want to boost a 30hz frequency so on the h/u my crossover is 50hz-20hz with a slope of -12db at 50 hz. This should be fine right? If I tune the SS to boost 30 hz with the sweep dial, how would I set the wide dial? Isn't the crossover range in the SS cumulative with the h/u crossover? I read somewhere each seperate crossover in the system gets accumulated together.
Sorry for Rambling, it's getting late. Thanks again for the advice and direction:)
