Bought a new spotting scope today!!

Post by mr tibbs »

FSM what a difference! I bought a Pentax PF-80ED used today and my good hell is it an upgrade from my Cabela's alpha scope. I can't believe what a difference in clarity there is. The Pentax has interchangeable eye pieces and I bought it with a Pentax XL21 eye piece for a fixed focal length of x24. Eventually I want to get the 20-60x zoom eye piece but for now the XL21 will do. The only problem I am having is finding a case for the beast! It's fawking huge!!

I will soon be buying a T mount for hooking up the Pentax DSLR to the scope and taking some wildlife shots and maybe even some astrophotography shots! :metal:

Not for me, I just love being able to see wildlife up close from far away. Don't get me wrong, I do like to hunt, but sometimes it's just nice to see some majestic animals in their natural habitat. 8)

ahh thats cool then. I can understand hunting for food but is seems most hunters just want to kill something and then brag about it to inflate their egos and say that they are hunters.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

Well, don't get me wrong I would love to get a nice buck or bull but I don't just kill anything. In fact in my last 15 or so years of hunting I have only killed two deer!

And Tom, you are correct. This scope will double as a lens!!
