07 toyota toacoma

i have a tantrum 300.2 and a tantrum 600.4.....using the 300 to push a 10" ryval having major problems w/ the ground getting extremeley hot as well as the sub smoking?????not sure what went wrong the sub lasted less than an hour out the box...???any help please??/

the ground wire of the amp getting hot? or the " - " speaker wire?

is/was it a svc, or dvc?

also, tell us more about your power cable part of your install
my ex-girlfriend said "its car audio or me"
i've had tougher choices at a soda machine...

the speaker wire was not get'ng hot just the ground i did use a bogus wire which mght have been the reason but now i am thnk'n it blew out my sub....im gett'n no output.....

the power cable was the best out as far as the guage....not sure what you mean as for svc or dvc???

What gauge of wire did you use for power and ground? SVC, DVC, are single voice coil and dual voice coil, referring to the sub. Which is yours?

sounds like you have a ground that is going bad. Corrosion will develope under it which causes resistance, which then creates heat. I have seen where people didn't scrape the paint off and it got hot enough to melt the carpet to the screw/ring terminal.

Sounds like you let the smoke out of the speaker. Electronics works on smoke the same way your car runs on gas, with the exception that it is much much harder to put the magic smoke back in. Gains and bass bost all the way up?
