I am not famiar with that line, does it have an internal or external fuse and is it good? The popping noise could just be a fuse or it could be something more serious but take the top off and see what it looks like.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

no fuses in them. i read there are relays but the other 3 xenon i have the fans start up the second the turn on normally high and than slow down
i can take the cover off but would not like to get into it. then he can say i did something if not i will start the ebay case...

got a email from the seller and showed me the x400.1 is the only xenon amp that doesn't have a variable fan speed does this mean it also does not have a fan? i remeber about 1.5 years ago owning the x400.1 normal silver one and it had a fan come on when they start up little loud but than always slows down and is quite again?
anyone eric or valk any ideas to help

I looked they do not.. I don't know what would make the large click sound around that area. again i don't know how to fix amps either so I don't know. i had it fused at 40 amp and it doesn't draw alot of current so im lost. i will get it sent out tonight
the seller has agreed to take the amp back but i have to pay for shipping it sucks but what can you do
I guess unless i can find another onyx cover for my x100.2 or another onyx 400.1 than i will have to use them in the normal silver color :(
they will sound the same just not look a nice IMO

I own and currently operate a X400.1 and there is no fan. Mine makes a "louder" click noise when power is supplied from the head unit. I was always under the impression that it was just the delayed turn on circuitry. I have never had a problem with mine in the 2 years of owning so don't give up on it yet as this one has worked flawlessly to date.

The mono amps have a relay on the output, and the click is probably that relay. As the amp is powering up the speaker is disconnected from it. Otherwise the speaker may see large amounts of DC and fry, or at the least pop very hard.

Once the rail voltage is up, and the output is stabilized, the relay connects the speaker to the amplification circuit.
