Questions on the TI800.4

I am looking to buy a new PG TI800.4 to run my system. I had a specific question about bridged mode impedance. The product sheet says specifically says "minimum impedance is 4 ohm bridged or 2 ohm stereo." I am looking to run channel 1 and 2 at 2 ohm and then bridge channels 3 and 4 at 2 ohm to get a wattage of 200x200x400. Has anyone been able to do this successfully? If so, how long have you been running this setup and have you seen any problems?

some amps can and some cannot. I ran an old series on fosgate amp like that for a long time and never had an issue. I am unsure if these are ok for it but would suspect that they should.

You can run the front two at 2 ohm, but the rear bridged at 4 ohm (bridged 4 ohm is essentially a 2 ohm load)

ah crap I didn't pay attention to that. it will at the very least run hot but could go into protection or cause other issues running it in that way. hard to tell..

Just to clarify, on the bridged channel I want to connect a DVC 4 ohm sub wired in parallel to present a 2 ohm load. Will this configuration work? See attached file for visual representation of what I'm wanting to do.

it is not rated to run a 2 ohm mono load. Best case scenario it will just run hot and shuts down, worst case could let the magic smoke out of it. Its hard to replace magic smoke

Bummer. I really don't want to run 2 amps and I'm afraid 200 watts won't do it for me... Any suggestions?

its not ideal, but make sure you have a mono signal going to the sub and just do one coil per output. It will only net you a 4 oh stereo load to it which would would be less power but unless you add another sub, get a different sub or add another amp your options are limited. See if you can trade someone for a single coil 4 ohm sub.

I haven't actually bought the sub yet, and there is a svc 4ohm option. If I went this route, I would be getting the 400 watts I'm looking for??

I think that is what it is rated for at 4 ohms but I have not invested any time into learning about them since I still doubt I wll ever see the new stuff....

Running it in stereo with one side per coil on the DVC would do the same. This is often not recomended because if you happen to send different signals to the coils they will not be happy but bass is normally mono anyway if you are comming from a sub out on a deck or sound processor. If you are not you could always just use an RCA Y-splitter to take on channel on the rca going to the amp and split the input to the rcas on the deck to be sure it is the same signal.
