Re: Ive been gone to long
It's Ryval A4.50 was build for BBG Distribution LTD in UK. It,s cheapest 4 ch amplifier PG ever build
Re: Ive been gone to long
I bought one of these about a year ago or so off a seller in Portland's Craigslist for about 60.00 bucks. Wasn't a bad amp I thought it was better then the chrome qx amplifiers I had at the time, the board looked very similar to the qx 4 channel.

meh, Porsche sold the 924, Cadillac made the cimmaron and Guns and roses made the spaghetti incident. When a company puts their name on something they own the reputation of that product. The trick is making something so good afterwards everyone forgets the bad productttocs wrote:I think we can all agree that its NOT really phoenix gold....

Re: Ive been gone to long
PG didn't brand the Ryval Designs amps as PG though. There are a few "made by PG" hints in some locations, but on the whole they were sold as Ryval Designs amplifiers, not Phoenix Gold Ryval.nutxo wrote:meh, Porsche sold the 924, Cadillac made the cimmaron and Guns and roses made the spaghetti incident. Re: Ive been gone to long
Well...it does have have the surfer logo on it, and the Phoenix Gold sticker on the box...
Re: Ive been gone to long
This specific example does, yes. The reason the Ryval Designs line was made in the first place was that the distributors would be able to brand them with their own name. So many were sold as "BBG" amps in the UK, for example. I am not sure the Ryval Designs amps were ever actually sold on this side of the pond either.Thumper88 wrote:Well...it does have have the surfer logo on it, and the Phoenix Gold sticker on the box...

I dunno man. They certainly weren't trying to distance themselves from the product http://www.phoenixgold.com/images/pdfs/ ... heim07.pdfstipud wrote:PG didn't brand the Ryval Designs amps as PG though. I'm really not trying to be oppositional. think PG is a fine company with a great history. I'm just saying that even the most successful companies have flops if they've been around long enough.
Re: Ive been gone to long
Actually, that's Ryval, which was the successor to the Octane line. Great bang for the buck and very robust. Ryval DESIGNS was a completely different amp series, sold below the Octane line, made on the cheap in order for PG's overseas distributors to brand as their own. Makes perfect sense rightnutxo wrote:I dunno man. They certainly weren't trying to distance themselves from the product http://www.phoenixgold.com/images/pdfs/ ... heim07.pdf
