Got the new transistors in my 2125 and i am popping fuses. Not the internal ones but the ones at the distribution block. The right channel lights up for about 5 or 6 seconds before the 40 amp fuse lets go, the left channel doesn't light at all.

Originally the back of the pots on the gain were grounding out against the heat sink, fixed that. Then the transistors went (my fault), so i fixed those, still no go. Anyone have Valeks info? Don't know what else to do. Hate to pay shipping back and forth for what I am sure is a $4.00 part but my expertise has run out.

did you replace them all or just the ones that looked bad? Did you check the resistors and cap leading up to the transistors?

I replaced all four but didn't replace or check the resistors leading up to them. I wasn't sure how to check them. The caps are all brand new.

prettysure I have heard that if the transistors are blown then the resistors and caps leading up to them need to be checked as well. I might just have a bad case of diarehea of the mouth but I think I remember hearing that here.

Problem is I don't know how to check them. I have a multimeter but I don't know what I am looking for. I don't know how to check the resistance or what to look for. I am running out of expertise. I can swap out caps, resistors, etc. But when it comes to tracking down a problem I am not sure how to do it.

we all need to know our limits. While it sounds nice to just be able to swap out the smoked pieces if you do not understand the basics of a meter I would really direct you to a qualified expert to take care of it. Checking resistors is the most basic of electrical measurements and while I applaude your enthusiasm to repair it yourself again we all need to try and know what we do NOT yet know and the limits that it imposes on us. Doing circuit board repairs is not for the faint of heart and really takes years of experience to get comfortable with honestly.
