The manual for the xs2500 clearly says the amp is 1ohm stereo and 2ohm mono. I keep hearing people , including a repair tech whose opinion I respect very much its 2ohm stereo 4ohm mono.
it CAN handle it...make sure it has its own 4awg cable (or bigger wire to a dblock, and then split if you have more amps) and fan cooling is definitely recommended. a capacitor isnt a bad idea either to make sure it isnt current starved.
that said, after using XS amps almost my entire car audio career... i would never use a xs amp at that load in my car (or even a install i did)
just becasue your car has a 7k redline, doesnt mean it should be ran at 7k all the time

i've had tougher choices at a soda machine...

I run stinger 0 to the block and 4 gauge to the amps so that's all good. I have crossflows on both amps as well.
Do you have to run 2ohm mono or 1ohm stereo? Because there's not much point. XS amps are current limited so going 1ohm isn't going to give you more power, only more problems.

I see what you're saying, but "BRIAN" isn't really wrong with his statement either. You're correct that the cap "stores" energy (voltage) but it also dumps (hence the nickname "dump cap") electrons into the system when there's a voltage drop. And the flow of electrons is "current"
Now whether or not a cap has enough stored energy to supplement the charging system in a vehicle is a whole other debate

I wouldn't recommend running it at 2 ohms bridged/1 ohm stereo. The amp will handle the load, but it will be running less efficiently and much hotter, without providing a noticeable amount more power.

its Brian
i'm a big advocate of caps in systems, but definitely NOT for a charging system band-aid. smoothing out ac ripples and extra input capacitance for the amps however....yes please!

If you want to use your XS2500 as a space heater, then go ahead and run it at 2 ohm bridged. A weak point in the XS2500 is the connection between the power connector and the PCB. If B+ or B- terminals get hot after you run your system for while at 2ohm bridge or 1ohm stereo it time to send the amplifier to me for repair before it's too late, or you'll start seeing the power terminal start melting. If you wait too long you will see lots of smoke and maybe a fire. This is why I don't recommend running this amplifier to low.

They will actually do quite a bit more at 2 ohm mono. Just as the Xenons were stated to be current limited (and the ZPA's after the mod) we all know they'll do stupid power when lowered. Would I do it, probably not, but they will put out more.
"ZPA's will have the same sound essentially as you get from the MS, they just feature a bigger shinier set of balls."
