Xenon 1200.1 issue

Post by SilverGT »

hey guys new here and in need of help. been a long time PG fan.

ok I have just installed my system. I have a kenwood dvd player. JL 6 channel amp for the doors and a PG xenon for my subs. now I am getting a loud buzzing noise through the speakers with everything hooked up. even with the engine off. If I unhook the rca's at the PG amp the noise is gone. I hook one up and I get a low buzz noise hook up the other and I get a very loud buzz. with them hooked up if I tap on the top of the amp I get a loud pop in all the speakers. Now my buddy has told me that the early xenon amps had some issues? thanks for the help in advance

Have you turned the gain down or up to see if it changes? When my brother had to hook up a line out converter, he had a problem with a certain noise coming out of the subs. We figured out it was just feedback and he had to turn the gain to a certain level to cure the problem. Otherwise, it sounds like something internally.

could be the amp or the speakers. Try swapping the speaker wires out of the amp and see if the same sub does it or if it flips to the other sub.
what else can I say I am a grumpy asshole most of the time.

I am unsure of the age of the amp. I get the noise from all subs and also my door speakers. its like the PG amp is sending a signal back to the HU or something. I have tried the settings and everything. soon as I unplug the rcas from the PG amp my door speakers are clear again. uploading some pix of the rca ports on the amp

inside there is a stamp that says emb-644-20
rev 3.0 2003.12
