this is my first post and the query i have is one that i've been searching the internet for an answer to for a few days....now ive found you all. really hope you can help me
ive just bought a complete system and part of the system is a bass cube, but no remote controller. will the unit work with the controller from another similar type product, can one be made or bought on its own, if so, where from in the UK?
one last question, will the bass cube actually fire-up and work (to an extent) at all without the controller being attached?
anyone know how we contact the person that makes these controllers and would he/she post to the UK?
from what ive found out, seems as though the controllers are in quite high demand and a lot of these types of bass 'expanders/adjusters' are sold second hand without the remote, this guy/girl could make a serious killing!!!
anyway, im all ears if anyone has any form of 'work-around' or alternative option for this problem

there is no work around but i think i may still have the schematics for one.
I had several made by Cecil who lives in San Jose CA.
I bought the RF controllers on EBay and had them shipped to him for modification.
I think they were about $50USD on sale from one of the supply houses.
There's no power off and the sweep is reversed but they work perfectly.
Note the face looks ragged as the factory protective plastic film is still in place.

The only stupid question is the one not asked .......
The PG LPL controllers will not work.
The LPL is simply a potentiometer whereas the Bass Cube is powered and has a circuit board like the RF unit hence sweep control for centering your preferred frequency. The RF unit needed a mod to work with a Bass Cube, but I have no idea what it is. Personally, I use Audio Control's EpiCentre and an LPL. Those together give you ultimate control for going low at all volume levels.
Cecil's handle in here was 1moreamp, but I haven't seen him in here for ages now. He's a standup guy and even delivered the units to my wife's hotel while she was on a conference in San Jose. I know his health wasn't good. I'm not sure if any other Phorum members have kept in touch with him or not. You could try a PM and perhaps his email will get a notice.

The guy who makes custom one's is: Jacampb2
he hasn't been here for awhile, the RF one is alright, but I like the original for the off/on feature.
I suppose if thats what you gotta go with it gets the job done with no worry's.
screw car audio, I'd rather go fast....errr, wait a minute.
