does size matter/

Speaker size ( of course it does but how much ). Will there be a huge difference between a set of 5 1/4 and 6 1/2 if they are in the same product line? I found some coaxes I really want but they are 5.25. They are SUPER FUCKIN RARE, maybe. Ive only seen em once before so rare to me I guess.

if it the mb quart the 51/4" almost doesn't have mid bass but the 61/2 do.
other brand you will get nice mid bass out of the 61/2 but not so much out of the 51/4
so it depends on what kinda music you listen to and what you want out of your system.

Generally speaking 6.5's have more midbass and 5.25's have better midrange. If you get a set of 5's you might want to consider adding dedicated midbass up front for an even better experience than 6.5's ;)

it really does imo. the midbass range for your front speakers is imo the most difficult part to blend. so even though the difference between the range of a 5.25 and a 6.5 maybe 20-30hz, it represents a very critical range.

but if its all you can fit....its all you can fit
