Id be running the heater in the hi current mode...what exactly are you going to be running on the amp? Sounds like your running a 2 dvc 2ohm subs setup?? If so with impeadence rise the amp should do it but will get real hot..if this is indeed your planned setup, id wire each of the sub's vc's in series, then both of those sub's wired together parrallel for a 2ohm mono load at the amp. The amp will live longer and the power supply in the amp might be a lil happier wired like so..

1 ohm stereo is similar to 2 ohm mono as far as the amp output and heat is concerned, but will sound better because you will have stereo for one but for two you won't lose dampening factor by bridging. I love stereo bass, sounds incredible with enough power.

Before you install the amp, flip it over, take the bottom off and youll see 3 capacitors grouped together, take a small strip of paper slide it under each capacitor in 2 or 3 different places to check if they are leaking. (paper will be wet).. Which if they are youll need to get them replaced, if you dont there is a chance youll fry the amp. I dont know what revision your 275 is, but id bet the caps are at the end of thier service life. This is normal, for any old school amp. When the caps are done, the amp will last another 10-15 yrs..let us know what you find when checking the caps...Also look for a "rev" on the circuit board and note the letter under/beside it...
