Our new 10" Xcon

Post by denim »

As always, I preface saying if anyone is not cool with outside brands I am not trying to take advantage of the PG board, Brian please boot this topic if you feel so. Just trying to share my excitement with my PG friends, hence no links etc. I occasionally post these up here as we have a few fans over here and I get pm's from people who are interested in our drivers. So with that said, we are finally adding a 10" version to our Xcon line up.

That last picture shows it will just barely, and I mean just barely squeak in. :)

$369, we should be charging much more to come close to getting a sniff of the margins the big boys are getting.

That's 1 sexxy sub and the price is waaaaaay lower than I expected  . Is the sub purely for SPL or is it a mix of SPL and SQ? Might have to pick 1 up as I'm lookin' for a new 10" to replace my TIElite12D.

This model line is not an SPL model, the Xcon's are SQ biased subs with good power handling. People have put up good numbers with them, but that was not the intention, that is what our Zcon is for. The Xcon is in that super sub class if you will, as in not peaky, LOVES the low low stuff, does not need bonkers power (I ran the original 12 for months will a mere 240 watts and people did not believe me), so essentially a great all around driver that has a mix of abilities but does not really sacrifice its original goal to please everyone. A good number of people are running them sealed.

Is this in the same family as the 12" version we reviewed for you a few years back and I still own?

no, that was the dcon, their low end line (for lack of a better term, it was still a pretty awesome sub.)

That's a beefy motor and high RMS w/a sub that size. Saying that, that's a hell of a shallow mount depth considering.

Hey Bro - Just placed my order for this bad boy (10" 2 ohm DVC) to replace my TIElite 12D  and was between the Xcon and a 10w7 :hmm: , really can't wait to hear this sub on a JL 500/1 v2 in a sealed enclosure per your recommended enclosure specs  . Thanx again for pointin' me in this direction. :metal:

you could substitute it in that old bmw saying

"buying a xcon(bmw) for spl(drag racing) is like taking a hooker fishing...its fun...but its not what you got it for

Those look very nice. This is why I like internet brands , they seem to actually cater to all user applications much better.
