This is entirely just my opinion, but any woman who says one thing, and does not stand behind it, only to then complain about it forever is very shallow.
Leading a man into a trap, in which the final gain is only a pissed off or discouraged man, who now will trust that woman slightly less, is no gain for the woman.
If a woman says she does not want an expensive ring, it is best to obey her wishes. Going against this will only harm the situation later.
My girlfriend told me not to get her anything for Valentines Day, so I did not. All of her girlfriend’s and co workers rambled on and on about how terrible I was and how shocked they were of my actions.
My girlfriend actually ended up getting me things for Valentines Day, although I never said if I wanted anything or not. My assumption was it is a day for men to get women things, not the other way around.
Anyway, am I a bad guy for not following the path set by American society, and Hallmark’s marketing team, and instead choosing to do my own thing on my own schedule?
All I know is I am coming up on two years with my woman, and in that time we have never had an argument (we have had disagreements which we resolved in diplomatic ways), never have called each other names, or swore at each other, and countless other women who associate with mine are approaching me, asking me to give classes for their men to learn how to be better boyfriends, something which I find pretty ironic.
